RE: Forgetting To Shut Down Cell Phone In Flight

Iaddca, I'm a 737NG pilot and I take great offense with your attitude. There have been documented incidents even at my airline in a 737NG where cellphone interference caused autopilot and navigation problems. And stop pushing conspiracy theories, your "proof" is actually not proof at all. What do bi...

RE: AA Pilots To Fly Hatless.

Come on guys, don't just throw a random salary figure in the air and everybody run with it. Pilots' max salary is 150K, not 200K, and the VAST majority of American pilots don't make that amount anyway. They're not making this statement (hats off) just for themselves, but as a sign from the employee ...

For those that think a $200 savings per flight or $0.50 per passenger savings per flight is peanuts, consider this: The airline I work for carried 5 million passengers last year and made about 13 million dollars in profit. This comes down to about $ 2.50 per passenger. So if you save an extra $ 0.50...

Having flown the 757 for a few years, I do recall hardly ever using wing anti-ice except in severe icing conditions, whereas on the 737NG we use it all the time. Indeed, usually the Boeing have the edge, but on average, it comes down to which thrust rating the engine has. For example, at my airline, the 73Gs have 24K engines (24,000 lbs of static thrust). At EasyJet, their 73Gs have 20K engines. This make a WORLD of difference. You'd be tempted to think that...
