Hi! Keihsmatkat hasn't existed in a long time. Most charters are indeed operated by Finnair but there's competition from Finland and from abroad. Other airlines are at least Air Finland, Britannia Nordic (TUI Group) and MyTravel (ex-Airtours). Finnair doesn't use M...Jump to post
Someone great who Sweden had, was Anna Lindh ;'-(.
It just feels so horrible, i hope we won't get this type of political violence here in Finland too.
The things the Russian guy sells are probably real,
what they probably lack is warranty and so on...
Not just a politician, but previous PM Lipponen.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/3001812.stm is a good source.
Peter, the reason why a mobile interferes with the plane's systems is that it transmits a radio signal to the network enabling you to make and receive calls. Cameras generally don't (unless a remote control is used), so they should be allowed to be used. When BA777 and I flew Finnair last summer he ...Jump to post
Sad story. RIP
John Lennon - Imagine

Costa Rica is rather developed when compared to it's neighbours. I did see that the abolition of the military in 1949 has bore fruit.
Wonderful reports as usual!
HKG... Ouch! Remember to protect yourself from SARS.
That caption doesn't fit my sense of humour at all...
I only am sad that lives were lost. RIP.
This is indeed a sad day. I hope they find another good leader. May Zoran Djindjic rest in peace.
Nice Report, I sincerely hope your mother gets better soon!
A third cheaper here in Finland? No way! The prices including tax are somewhat different... VW Golf 1.4 Firstline 55kw Germany: 15,499.99€ Finland: 17,660€ Audi A4 2.0 Germany: 26,650€ Finland: 33,860€ ...Jump to post

Yet again a marvellous trip report!
I completely agree with the header, America is still ok, and they also have helped Finland, which I am very grateful of! I've been to America twice, and enjoyed both times very much.
Best regards from Finland,
Looking thru rec.photo.equipment.35mm I found a PDF leaflet that has some very good information about one's rights as a photographer made by a lawyer. It can be downloaded at http://www.krages.com/phoright.htm. It might help you if you'r...Jump to post

I would recommend Reala 100 for prints, very fine grain!
That's so sick!

Luckily these people were caught, I'm happy that the Metropolitan Police was able to arrest these bastards. In the same time, I feel sorry for the majority of muslims, who according to my understanding, are not supporting this crazyness. I think the world could be a much better place if no religions...Jump to post
The phrase "Braking was reported poor" should explain the situation quite well...
Finnair is going to receive a fifth MD-11 (reg. OH-LGE), bought from the 2nd hand-market soon, and according to their press releases they will replace them at the end of the decade. I would guess the Widebody Airbuses have a larger chance than the B777 due to commonality with the A320 Series. On the...Jump to post
Being a Finn, flying Finnair is rather inevitable for me, which, at times feels rather unfortunate, in terms of service, that is. The Domestics, in my opinion have the worst service and the less friendly (cabin) crew. The Scheduled Intra-Europe Flights are ok. The food is ok and the service is more ...Jump to post
Why can't both stop disturbing each other and live together in peace?
The media in Finland seems rather thrilled with this subject, been reading somewhat more about it in the last few days... I read about a report made by the Swedish Government about Swedish City/Municipality Housing in a Finnish newspaper stating that 100 million SEK (around 10 million EUR/USD) was l...Jump to post
Born and still living in Helsinki, Finland.
Ville, Technically you have to pay the fees. Personally I don't think you will be facing any interest though, don't count on it though. (For the record: I am not encouraging any kind of illegal activity) I've read from Finnish newsgroups that sometimes officers have wanted to see the receipts of the...Jump to post
I've heard rumours about mostly ripoff stores advertising in Popular Photography so I'd suggest B&H too.
PS. Finnish Customs may want you to pay Customs Fees and VAT...

There have been some fatal attacks in Finland too, our law requires to keep dogs leashed in all public places, except special fenced parks for dogs.
Luckily most Finns are very law-abiding.
Try visiting your local BMW dealer.
They did indeed mint some, which are now rarities.
They are very valuable as some packs of the, are sold for hundreds of Euros even in Finland.
I can only imagine how much one could earn of selling them somewhere in Central Europe...
Even Scandinavia is getting crazy. :'-( First, the Myyrmanni Shopping Mall in Finland. And now something happening in Sweden. Not to mention that there have been many (unconnected to each other) shootings in Finland in the past few days. Alex PS. Kolobokman, that news source states he speaks Russian.Jump to post
Yet another superb report from you!
Hey Luftaom, did you remember to put a one-star rating?
Libya... not sure I'd want to go there...
Have a nice trip!
I feel so sorry for you!
Hello, Y.A Kueh
What film did you use?
VERY large problem here in Finland, as our cell phone percentage is one of the highest, if not the highest, in the world. Luckily, it's becoming illegal to talk without a hands-free as of Jan 1st.
I think you're lucky NOT being forced to national service. In Finland we have it, and most people choose the military. There is a Civilian Service alternative, but most Finns are so narrow-minded that they probably consider you a very bad person. Another thing is that Civilian Service takes 3...Jump to post
I got an assignment to do a a small book about a subject of my choice, I chose Canada. Now I am out of ideas what to write about, so far I've managed to write about History, Small info about Nature, Sports, Literature, Music and Politics. I read somewhere that Broadway Photo was a rip-off store. Judging by the price I'm afraid the other ones are rip-off's too. I'm not completely sure though... Anyway, my suggestion would be to stick with well known dealers such as B&H and Adorama.
The US Government should give more money to education.
