Just to clarify the previous posts. The CAK, TOL and YNG-CLE was United mainline, CAK, YNG and TOL-CLE flights were Continental Express.

Did CLE ever have historic service to Youngstown airport? How historic are you referring to? Continental Express flew their B1900's between their CLE hub and YNG back in the mid-90s for a short time. I would be shocked if SBN got SFO on UA. I would focus energy on DEN. Much larger markets such as SDF, MEM, GRR, MKE, CMH and CVG don’t have SFO service on UA.

SBN has the normal increase of corporate traffic for a home game weekend today. In addition, United is operating one of each ORD/EWR-SBN flight with a 737-9MAX and Delta is operating one of each LGA/ATL-SBN flights with an A320. Big game Fridays are always great spotting days.

It's not doing that well. It was cut to seasonal, which means it is a leisure route and doesn't carry meaningful business traffic levels, which, where we are now in the pandemic is a weak metric anyway as so much business traffic is mixed into leisure, but LX has the lock on the highest paying fare...

I’m guessing it was significantly cheaper and quicker to charter 5-6 buses to drive the 4.5 hours to YYZ then to get hotels for the entire plane and wait for the crew to get their required rest.

Charlotte and Philadelphia are major international hubs for American and neither have Tokyo or Asia service. It looks like Aer Lingus did not operate the usually scheduled EI126 YYZ-DUB on the 23rd and repositioned that aircraft to SBN to operate SBN-DUB. I suppose much more economical that ferrying an empty plane over.
