Re: Oman Air intends to apply for Oneworld membership

I was about to say, seems a bit redundant. But eh, another quality airline to choose from. Who's complaining! I've heard horrible stories about WY employees. They have a great hard product but their ground and inflight staff drag them down considerably. I've flown them a few times and have never en...

Re: What is your favorite widebody aircraft?

If I'm in biz class I don't care. If economy, I try to avoid 777's due to the loud engine noise. I do agree the Tristars seemed extremely spacious with the high ceilings before the overhead center bins were installed after refit. Also liked 747 combis so there was never any chance of sitting in the ...

There is a newish rule about card disputes- they must now be within the last 60 days. This is a big problem if you buy the ticket 3 months out and you encounter problems.

The Austrian market isn't large enough to support many flights and as correctly pointed out by some (but not all) above, OS can maintain the transatlantic flights, but only because of VIE transit traffic. Flew the JFK JNB sector non-stop on a SP in my younger years. JNB is at high altitude so it likely impacted the performance in respect to payload, hence the technical stop at SAL. In the 70's/80's SAA operated from the BA terminal at JFK with 747-200's and SP's- flights in both directions stopped at SAL. There was also a very briefly operated once weekly JNB-SAL-IAH flight with the SP- all USA fights were then suspended due to sanctions.
