Wow, ATL will now have 4 flights a day to Canada: YYC, YWG, YEG and YVR. Sometimes 5 a day with 2 to YYC! Nice

HP used D31 prior to merging with US. An occasional D29 usage. From what I hear DL will give up 3 gates on D South and they will become Common Use for F9/NK/AS.

Any idea if LA would ever start any route to ATL? Or does DL just not allow most Skyteam carriers into their fortress hub. Look how many times AM have entered and departed ATL.

Could CUE (Cuena) handle international flights or is the runway too short? Just visited and it is an amazing city! Only AV and LA there. Total of an average of 4 flights a day usually.

I know SN was in ATL in 1978 because my first flight as a child was an SN 707 nonstop ATL-BRU Dec 1978.

MIA Concourse G

So I am sitting in G this morning thinking this is the last of the original piers at KMIA. Does anyone know its history? Was the PA or NA? I cannot imagine the incredible history that these walls have seen. Now home to F9, UA and UP.

We had a heavy snowfall this morning. It is supposed to return later this afternoon into the overnight hours. Winds are high too. Even schools are releasing early... so you know it is going to be bad!

I know it is very early but I would be curious to see if DL would allow LA to add capacity into ATL with it own metal to supplement each other on routes such as SCL, GRU, LIM, etc? I do think that this was a brilliant move on DL's part!

DEN-DSM is a shocker for me. That one to me is out of left field. MEM-ATL I think has a shot. I am surprised to hear the BNA-ATL has not been successful? Maybe it has, I have no idea. But that market was always a huge high fare route before the WN arrival.

I was an employee of the original Eastern Airlines. There will never be another Eastern and I hate that this outfit with follow the likes of Braniff and Pan Am and ruining the legacy name. This business plan makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

A little off topic but when ATL opened in September 1980, "D" was all others. I remember Frontier had D2, Republic had "D" South. Piedmont had "D" North, except for BN had D-36 and NW had D-35/37 (I think). I forgot where OZ was on "D" North? The others like A...

I live on what was Runway 35L now. Of course no trace of Stapleton now except the control tower. I never flew into or our out Stapleton but would love to know what it looked like on the inside.

Off topic, but we indeed have the worst roads I have ever driven on in Colorado. The tire companies are likely raking in millions. Pot hole capital! I have seen the artist renderings but I still cannot picture how the Great Hall will work and the new security?

I never knew DL had 757s based in FRA? PA110 was JFK-FCO-IST-THR when I flew it on a 747-100 in the 1970s.

I live now on what was Runway 35L. I would love to see an overlay map of Stapleton with the airport versus Stapleton of today. It would be so interesting to see what now resides on where the concourses were, etc. Of course only the Control Tower remains, now the Punch Bowl Social Club.
