as I said ... mostly ... I do know that they want the 737-890s for SEA-MIA et al ... however maybe the 25th winglet-set is going to ...

RE: China And The 7E7

China will be operating the A380 and 7E7 by the 2008 Beijing Summer Games if for no other reason than to show how "advanced" a nation they are today.

Its all a matter of pride (although with the population of China one could use A380s on regional routes (provided the populace could afford to fly))

RE: Why AF Or KLM "Asia"?

it has to do with ownership of said carriers. while state governments owned large stakes of these carriers it was seen as an affront to the China government. once these carriers were privatized it was no longer an issue. The last to go was KLM Asia ... leaving only JAA ... which is more its own airl...

RE: Alaska Airlines Orders Winglets!

the 737-600/700/800/900 have all been certified to use the winglets as they have the same wing ... however ... Alaska uses their 739s mostly on high-density routes out of KSEA so the savings wouldn't be as significant as the 737-700s and soon 737-800s which do the trans-con routes ... Since they hav...

RE: Alaska Airlines Orders Winglets!

I'd say that the decision was made due to fuel costs and the $30 million or so in profits they made last quarter ... need money to spend money to save money

should look good provided they put the eskimo on them and not just white 'n' stripes

so ... does anyone know if Continental's bid for Avianca is going to be accepted? and if so what their plans are for Avianca as well as Copa? Personally I think it would be a great fit ... aircraft, experience with Latin America, etc ... Avianca/Copa/Continental would be one hell of a partnership! G

RE: Props Using Jetways

There are only two western-built turboprops that can safely use any jet-capable jetway/airbridge. They are the NAMC YS-11 and the BAe ATP. The reason why they can use any jetway is because: a. they are tall as most narrowbody jets (DC-9/737/etc) b...

RE: 1:400 Scale 737 Model Club

The point of the 737club (737club.com) is to release Boeing 737-200 models that appeal to the fans of the 737-200 but that do not warrant a wide-release. The idea is to provide collectors with models from all over the world, from airlines both past and present. Only about 700 or so copies of each mo...

Boeing 737-100 Question ...

Hi there folks ... I am working on a little project involving the good ol' Boeing 737-100 I was wondering if anyone could answer the following questions: 1) Sierra Pacific operated 2 731s: N708SP/N709SP. Were they painted in the color scheme used on their 732s? 2) SARO (Servicios Aereos Rutas Orient...
