Where is this new? Weren't beds like this already offered on the Stratocruiser and the DC-7C?

Corsair had mixed "business" (2-3) and economy (3-3) seating on the upper deck of the 747-300. Don't know about the 400 though.

I actually don't understand why airlines put Business or even First (LH) class in the upper deck. From my experience it is much noisier than other parts of the aircraft.
