Re: Air France will stop flying out of Paris-Orly by 2026.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Orly has no spare slots? So Ryanair can only go in if some are given up? Which AF won't be doing as they will pass to Transavia?

Re: Air France will stop flying out of Paris-Orly by 2026.

Do Corsair, Air Caraïbes, or French Bee have any plans to leave ORY too? It seems a bit odd that after 2026 the only long-haul flights from ORY will be from those airlines. I would think ORY-JFK would make sense to keep since there is a lot of premium traffic that values being closer to the city. I...

Re: Air France/KLM News and Discussion Thread - 2022

Delta isn’t particularly big at EWR, and I believe most of the routes they do operate are to stations already served by AF, or DL to CDG. So likely not a whole lot of connecting pax to rely on. (ATL, BOS, MSP, DTW) Whilst they have their own non-stop CDG flights already (at least on some days of th...

1. Do you know for how long carriers are allowed to hold their "temporary" LHR slots? Until either: -The slot owner wants it back (can only be done at the change of IATA season IIRC) Or -The UK Government ends the temporary COVID-19 alleviations to slot rules (or removes the temporary rea...

Anyway, JetBlue was offered the temporary slots for free, as per the slot rules and now they are being made permanent which means they didn't pay a thing for them. It just means slots became available and they were able to get them. I knew as soon as they were allocated temporary slots that they wo...

Re: JetBlue's London Heathrow Slots Now Permanent (freebie value?)

Aeroflot's slots were seized. It's not like it was "compensated" as the last thing the EU want to do is for Aeroflot to land a windfall. So, my interpretation is that it was seized for free by the airport operator who then reallocated for free to Jetblue. Does anyone have a different inte...

You won’t see a dollar amount publicized because of the current environment and the fact that it is a former Aeroflot slot that is being ceded because SU can no longer fly to London due to sanctions/overflight restrictions. JetBlue doesn’t want to give impression they are giving money to SU, LHR do...

AFAIK, as an EU based airline it is no longer possible to operate from the UK - needing an UK AOC to do so. EU airlines can base in the UK on their EU member state AOC to operate to EU destinations. Most of Ryanair's UK operations remain on their Irish AOC as the principle example of this. Their UK...

I don't think Vueling would necessarily need an UK AOC for a LGW base - if all the destinations served were in the EEA (European Economic Area) they could use their existing Spanish AOC. Ryanair run most of their UK based operations under their Irish AOC and on the flip side, if it wasn't for COVID-...

This isn't about preserving LHR slots this Summer - the UK has a full slot waiver for Summer 2021. Theoretically UA could operate nothing to LHR and keep all their slots (as long as they are made available for temporary reallocation until wanted back) https://www.acl-uk.org/news/summer-waiver-announ...

So for United which flies EWR-LHR 6x a day, they would have to fly it just 2x a day now? In this instance, EU rules no longer apply in the UK. 11pm is one time when LHR slots are freely available. I suspect UA have obtained the slots to swap with NZ, which NZ will immediately surrender back to the slot coordinator. Probably a legal reason behind it so it's technically a slot swap

In the case of a hard Brexit, will Norwegian (as an European company) be banned from flying UK-USA?
