From the UK reservations department btw, so the person probably had no business discussing these topics topics to start with. https://mobile.twitter.com/ErinClaireSF/status/115174523386611302...

Re: DL Planes to Carry Narcan for Drug Overdose Prevention

Let’s do some maths. Narcan cost about $150, and there’s about 150 seats on a plane. So a dollar per seat. But that Narcan should be good for a year or two - conservatively 1000 flights. So it’s about a tenth of a cent increase you’ll see in your ticket price. Say you average a flight every week fo...

Re: DL Planes to Carry Narcan for Drug Overdose Prevention

Many police departments in the USA have Narcan in their police cars or on their person. Just in my state, New Jersey, well over 200 persons have been saved from its use in the last several years. Police are most likely first on the scene of a person who may need Narcan and there won't be enough tim...

The Market changed once technology allowed Long Haul twins to skip over the hub. If NWA was around today they would probably try to get out of NRT too. wasn't that the point of the NW 787 order? I think I read something the other day aviation only contributes to 1-2% of the CO2 emissions globally? I won't worry about it too much -- cars are by far a bigger problem. It's not like we can't emit any CO2 -- we just need to control it a bit better. Ahh, here's a stat sheet about it. https://www...

Delta has morphed itself in the delight of management into mostly a shuttle service to AF/KL/KE to CDG/AMS/ICN. DL flies the routes from secondary tier two cities. This being a big reason for A350 deferrals. There is no DL flying ICN-JFK/LAX/ORD/SFO/DFW and others bur they are very proud of the new...

Re: How come the DL A350 can't fly LAX-SYD it is rumored?

As I suspected, a DL A359 on this route would have had a really poor average load factor and generate less revenue due to its lower number of premium seats. This route is all about the premium passenger for DL, hence why they use the aircraft with the most amount of premium (or non-Y) seats. Better...

What was even their strategy from the start? Did they have one? I really think the whole purpose was just to be a nuisance to the US3. It’s like they have a bottomless money pit.
