Has anyone gone spotting at Toncontin? I can't find much (if any) information online about good vantage points, and how to access them from the airport.
Thanks!
Thank you. In fact; according to the Washington Post article about the tragedy; Dr. Glinka was accompanying a shipment of medical supplies to a Children's Hospital. Well, Russian Air Force planes usually have to take a detour over the Caspian Sea towards Iran and via Iraq to Latakia. So that may exp...

At a whopping 27 miles, is this segment (a tag-on) the shortest flight in the US? It seems like the shortest flight in the UA system.. but I might be wrong.
Based on the posts in a thread in 2005, noone named a current shortest flight..

Anyone know the tail # or the latest ETA on it? I read on another forum it should've been out between the 14th and the 17th..

Nice report!
In this case VFR means Visiting Friends and Relatives, passengers who are generally low-yielding, who travel abroad to visit friends and relatives.
VFR also means Visual Flight Rules.. but that's not the point here :P
BEG-PRN with JU.. that would be surprising.

idk, if we were on a 767 or 737 and we were rolling into position with no flaps, I'd get into the aisle and start screaming. I know that sounds frantic, but in the extremely unlikely event the pilots forgot, I'd rather risk arrest than risk petering out near the threshold.
