Pretty sure any short-term improvements are from Munich Airport International now managing Terminal A and the new Terminal One. 1.75 million square feet for 15 gates is extremely spacious. Much better than existing terminals.

Why keep the Terminal A headhouse? I believe they are keeping it, temporarily, due to the Airtrain. I believe they are worried about tearing down a building that the increasingly fragile Airtrain runs right through. I believe it will be demolished to build the first phase of Terminal 2 (to replace Terminal B). But this is being studied now. No architectural plans have been released. They actually need to demolish the old terminal A to make way for the parking stands and taxiways that are planned to support the...

EWR Terminal One construction never stopped, and is progressing for it's initial opening late in 2021. https://www.enr.com/articles/49638-newark-airports-terminal-1-starts-spreading-its-wings Looks great. With a new AirTrain and eventually Terminal Two, Newark will be a much better airport.

Let’s hope the “temporary” Phase II/MSC South At LAX is canned and they eventually just continue with building out as originally planned when demand returns. LAX isn’t going to be bursting at the seams like it was when they decided on that temporary structure.

I think we are lucky that they are keeping any of the natural wood ceilings for only a $1 billion budget. Still will be a nice new terminal with descent architectural features.

$3.8 Billion is quite tan impressive amount of money for 500,000ft2 and renovation of existing terminal. They must be planning on gutting the place except for the newer part of Concourse B.
