LAX will probably be next to get more flights. TK's new 789 will provide them the opportunity to increase frequencies without dumping too much capacity. Perviously, the only aircraft in TK's fleet capable of flying to LAX was the 77W.

I have noticed how Ethiopian has slowly built up its service to Toronto. Having started with only 3 flights per week now up to five, and starting out with the B788, it's now flying the B77L. Of interest are loads this week, where seats in Y on ADD-YYZ sector are scarce, and it's not peak season yet...

UA can easily utilize its Star partners for US-Africa traffic. ET, LH, and SN have the market covered, and MS/SA additionally serve the large O&D markets to their respective hubs.

There is no real rush or priority for UA to serve Africa IMHO

I believe ADD uses stairs, because at the time QR arrives/departs ET is in the middle of it's huge evening bank and it (along with other Star carriers) utilize all available jet bridges. Also, QR is punished to use the extremely outdated regional/domestic Terminal 1

I haven't seen this confirmed on airlineroute.net, but if true, this is great news. I've always felt that IAD was a missing hole in the Alitalia network despite all of its struggles.

Alitalia will have to compete with UA on this route. But with the right strategy I believe this could work well

This rumor sounds weird and doesn't add up. ET loves their A359 and have been putting them on their prestige routes for a while now. Perhaps for their upcoming VLA order, they're leaning towards the 779 vs the A35K. But as of now, the 359 isn't going anywhere.
