Re: EWR New Terminal One

What I don't get is if you're going to completely rebuild T-A and T-B, and ultimately T-C, why not aim for a single, integrated terminal instead of preserving the existing construct (which presumably was done because each airline owned a terminal). That era is passé-- we should be using CUTE and int...

Re: KLM A310 Questions

Pretty sure that KLM A310s flew AMS-YHZ-YOW and back, probably for a season. That route started with the 747, then A310, then was flown under wet lease by Martinair's A310 and ultimately 767.

Re: AC A330 Fleet News and Updates Discussion Thread - 2020

AC, despite the short term pain with the MAX grounding, is in a great negotiating position: Boeing’s expected compensation may allow AC to consider the 787-10, potentially even taking over the deposits from the MAX10. Airbus wants to get back with AC, and while the A321LR/XLR is certainly a strong p...

Re: Cathay ending YVR-JFK service

Would it have been possible for the passengers on HKG-YVR-JFK to go through preclearance in Vancouver? If so, why did CX not arrange it that way? If they had done that, (with proper timing) then all passengers would have to deplane at YVR and clear customs. It could make a very cumbersome through f...

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery released

While better than the current, it's unfortunate they did not push the thinking further...for example, if you have a light blue and medium blue tail, why not incorporate more of that light blue on the rest of the fuselage to harmonize. For example, maybe use light blue as shadow on the UNITED titles,...

Re: B737MAX Grounded Worldwide

I’m curious whether the “hardware” issue due to the larger engines and GC position is only a MAX 8 issue due to its shorter length. Any thoughts?

Re: United Airlines "Evolution" to Globe Livery coming in April

Perhaps the globe is modified with square dots, as in some of the Polaris serve and glassware. Indeed, introducing the “pixel” concept would allow its easy application in a multitude of colors— like a mosaic.

Re: British Airways A350-1000 with No First Class

While 1-2-1 J class is desirable, I suspect that BA has some considerations— not dissimilar to LH— that might not make it possible. These are: ⋅ relatively shorter flight durations compared with the ME3 thereby reducing the need for “extravagant” J seats. ⋅  a revenue model that ...

Re: New airport for NYC and Philadelphia

NYC needs better transportation to its EXISTING airports, and a full renovation for each of them. At least the renovation is coming for LGA. There are already plenty of airports between NY and Philly, but developing them won’t solve congestion in the sky. What we need is for airlines to decrease fr...

Re: United updating brand with new colors

I suspect that United is doing a visual livery / rebrand in slow motion. The standard way is to do a rebrand is to announce complete, top-down overhaul of the visual identity-- see Air Canada for example. In contrast, United is likely putting small changes in place, and probably has some general ide...
