Re: 2020 Men’s College Basketball

My apologies! Bad intel. Thank you for the correction. No need for apologies you were 100% correct on the plane being @ PVD for Creighton. The only wrong part was who owned it. My suspicion is Creighton is getting flight time "donated" as it seems relatively rare for schools to be traveli...

Re: 2020 Men’s College Basketball

I have been keeping an eye on 818HR on ADS B and looked at the history, and it looks like it has only flown in and out of OMA this season, which made me think it was probably dedicated to Creighton, as you noted. There was a Falcon that looked like it was for a Creighton game earlier this season, b...

Re: 2020 Men’s College Basketball

Creighton flew one of RVR Aviation's E135s (818HR) to PVD. RVR's flights typically aren't trackable in flightaware or flightradar24. Aircraft overnighted at PVD and departed back to OMA today after the game. As far as I know 818HR isn't a RVR aircraft. From the FAA, it comes back to HR INV LLC with...

Re: AA Announces AUS-BOS/SJC/SJD, One-Off BOS-SDF/OMA/AGS + More

Omaha is pretty strong economically, so no surprises with the additions other than I'm surprised they didn't already operate those pairs. These are one offs for the Berkshire Hathaway shareholder meeting weekend. OMA already has year-round service to LGA on DL, to DCA on SW and DL, and seasonal ser...

Re: UA announces college football P2P routes

Not a lot of excitement among Sooner fans for the trip to LA. After playing in the Rose Bowl a couple years ago that kind of deflated playing against UCLA there. And the Bruins aren't a good team this year... Good points. Despite the fact that I'm more than a casual college football fan, without th...

Re: Berkshire Hathaway/OMA movements:

There may be more pax traffic into OMA this year due to the flooding and closure of I29. Buffett usually suggests flying into MCI and driving due to lower fares, but it will be about an hour extra drive (3.5+) due to detours. Buffett has suggusted at various times in the past for people to check MC...

Re: SWA 1643 Runway Overrun at OMA

Do we know that the airport is indeed closed? Referencing the live update on the FAA flight delay page....there is no reference to OMA being closed, and it shows delays of 15 minutes or less. The airport authority directly has reported the airport is closed. https://twitter.com/OMAairport/status/10...

SWA 1643 Runway Excursion at OMA

There has been a bit of freezing rain this afternoon. Per the OMA airport authority A Southwest Airlines aircraft is off the end of Runway 14R after landing at Eppley Airfield. There are no injuries and airport fire crews are working with Southwest to deplane the passengers and take them to the term...

Re: OKC Discussion Thread - 2018

OKC already has a CBP office on-site on the north side of the airport. Now I'm not sure what kind of capabilities that office has nor if anybody in there could do clearance related duties but the presence of an office might help the cause. OMA has CBP on site already as well to process general/busi...

Re: OKC Discussion Thread - 2018

I'd imagine it would be G4 or F9 to Mexico. I doubt you'll ever see OKC-Europe non-stop, even at 1x weekly service... It will be interesting to see what happens. OMA had OMA-CUN lined up with NW in 2006 and CBP basically told the airport they wouldn't staff it even if a FIS facility was built. Simi...

Re: Air Canada announces YYZ-OMA/PVD, YUL-PIT/BWI, YEG-SFO, YVR-SMF

On an Omaha message board the idea was floated that this was a way for European travelers to avoid NY, but with PHL/ATL/DTW/MSP/CLT in the mix, I dunno. The problem is a 19:50 arrival in YYZ and a 14:30 departure back to OMA aren't optimal for connecting to Europe. The only AC flights that make sen...

Omaha might be only a 50 miles from north Lincoln but OMA is on the NE side of Omaha with no freeway access. It's not as short (time) of a drive as people think. Airport to airport is 62 miles, all but the last three being on 3 or more lane interstate, with a good chunk of that being at a 75 mph sp...

The DEN-OMA flight is in the morning this summer and the OMA-DEN shows in the evening. In the winter they used this time for the plane to do a OMA-MCO turn but that doesn't show in the summer. I'm confused, cause I looked at the OMA airport website and I see traffic statistics, but nothing broken out by route that I can see. Nothing is broken out by route per se, but with Alaska specifically SEA is entirely mainline and PDX is entirely Skywest. Ergo with one flight daily each way it is f...

For some reason, Fresno State flew FAT-OMA-LNK. Not a divert, that was the sked. Can't think of a reason. The team didn't fly OMA-LNK that was a positioning flight. The team would've bused from Omaha to Lincoln. It happens at least once a year with an opponent in Lincoln. I suspect the reasoning in...
