I thought the A340-500 belongs to Carrier from Protugal, it still carries a CS- Registration.
It is definitely not airworthy, some parts of the engines are missing and the rest seems to be in a rather bad shape as well.

T Tails are more critical during stalls.
because the Airflow created by the stalling wings affects the elevator more on T Tail aircraft than on regular Tails.

I would suggest they are doing a crew change in Dublin.
MUC-IAD is the longest 2men flight LH has and LH has done this in the past sending Crews to WAW,AMS DUB to exchange delayed long haul crews

Most likely a check event at the LHT Facility!
They also do a lot of work on the 343 and 333 thats why sometimes fly the regular FRA-MLA-FRA with bigger equipment and change planes there!

I heard a Rumor that a Slot at TXL filled with a wide body is worth 4 narrow body slots!

I think the CAN flight operated for 4 or 5 years.
