Re: Qantas inaugural MEL-SFO today

I am still surprised that QF is the one starting the route and not UA bearing in minde all feed at their SFO hub. I felt for some time that SFO was undeserved to Australia with a single UA SYD flight. There was a myth out there that only LAX flights to Australia could work. This has changed in the ...

Re: United Announces EWR-PRG, EWR-NAP, SFO-AMS

AMS is a popular destination for tourism from SFO and vice-versa. Both places are well respected and popular places to visit especially during the summer months. Demand is very good from both ends, and UA should do well on this route even though there is plenty of capacity. The yields have been good...

Yes this happens at AA, and DL also from time to time. The reasons are demand from SFO and LAX to Local markets, Europe and beyond and vice-versa, especially in the summer months. They like to route through east coast hubs. Plus there are usually premium seating or international config on the wide b...

I never understood VA. Take SFO for example. They never took advantage and Qantas started back and from what I hear is doing...

Just to be accurate, the Bay Area has has international/Intercontinental service from it's three airports for much more then 1 year.... I believe it extends at least 15 or 20 years back in time. LAX worlds biggest, let's hope not! Granted LAX does a great job for the most part working with what it has given all of it's traffic, I can't imagine it being able to sustain it's current growth rate for too much longer, not out of lack of demand but a lack of shear space. This could be said of man...

A little history goes that Ethiad never got off to a great start at SFO when it started, and never as a route lived up to the expectations. Much of this was due to Ethiad flying a "jet airways" plane, and little advertising. By the time Ethiad got to upgrading their plane, the competition ...
