yes i did. Thanks for pointing that out to me. I watch Discovery wings. And pilots that say they like boeing better is because they can do this. Well you just said that an airbus did that. Has a boeing plane ever done that. That will back up your statement better. I was in a Cessna 182 and my dads f...Jump to post
Yeah I know that. Its just a joke i read somewhere. The reason the yoke move is a good thing to have is so you can tell what the plane is doing without looking to see what if it is doing. Like if you need to read charts or talk to a flight attendant in an emergency or something. I guess im just digg...Jump to post
What is the current condition on United, AA, Delta, Northwest. Im just curious to see who is pulling out of this recession. It seems every one is focused on United as I am too. But how are all the other 3 big ones doing. Man I hope to god that United Mechanics dont strike. That'll be the end of Unit...Jump to post
What they need to do is to do what boeing does on there 777 When the computer or auto pilot makes a turn or climb. The yoke moves. If the pilot wants to adjust. All he has to do is hold the yoke. move it a little more or a little less. He or she doesn't even have to watch what the plane is doing. Al...Jump to post
Hell ya. I completely agree with you. I still dont think that the a380 will compare to the 747. From a distance it will probly look like an a 340. The 747 has its own disinct look that you can even tell its a 747 from on the ground when its at 40 thousand feet. Personaly though i dont really think t...Jump to post
Kind of a spin off on the topic "Opinions on the 757" I've never flown on a 747 but i've seen and heard one takeoff and land at O'hare and it was the most exilerating (probly spelled that wrong) experiance ive ever gotten from a plane. Even a fighter jet does'nt compare. I guess I like it most in Un...Jump to post
Which one of these super planes do you like. For me its definetly the 747. Same classic look. Big. Powerful. fastes subsonic jetliner (Boeing website). I like the 777 but I feel like alot of airlines are using it instead of their 747's. Nothing compares. 747 all the way baby. I know, the last two ph...Jump to post
United only started using 777 instead of 747 on some routes is because there is not the demand. I would love to see a 777 try to go from chicago to hong kong. ( it probly can, im just trying to make the 747 look good ) That would be the dumbest thing boeing would do to get rid of the 747 program. It...Jump to post
I believe United will bounce back and be one of the strongest in the world. They are one of the oldest, There service is great now if not better than all of the other U.S. based airlines right now. (Probly because they cant really treat you like S**t like they used to due to there situation) If they...Jump to post
I've noticed alot of posts about United changing such and such a route from 747 service to the 777. Are people really not flying them as much that they switch to a 777 which only holds about 50 or 60 less I think. I like the 777 and all but it makes me hate it when it's being used on 747 routes. 747...Jump to post
Maaaaan! I wish I was older right now. I would give anything to fly one of those trijets. I almost am starting to like them more than the 747's. I dont know why, but I sort of hate the 777 and all airbus planes. I quess they are just to new for me to like right now. I like the new 747's because they...Jump to post
United of course. Are one of the oldest airlines in America if not the oldest. I dont know for sure. Just like SDSGDL said about delta is the same way I feel about United. This was and will still be my choice, if they pull through, for the airline I want to fly for when I get that far to make that c...Jump to post
Yes, This is the kind of reverse system the larger boeing jets and some other large jets use.
I dont know what you mean by that LY744.
Somebody was looking for a diagram and to make sure he got it I started a new topic.

Those dont really look like paint lines. I agree it might be damaged. I've only heard of it scpaping a little paint and denting the skin a little bit. That is why I doubt it was from a tail scrape because i dont think it would cause airframe damage. But im not a pilot and have not heard all stories ...Jump to post
Typical french engineering. NO OFFENSE. Airbus does alot of wierd things. The bend fusalage FULL wire control meaning the computer decides weather or the the pilots inputs should be carried out or not. I know they have changed this a little bit as a result of all the malfunctions. NO OFFENSE to airb...Jump to post
Those are really wierd looking.
That uses the same concept of the 737-200's reversers except there are four

Oh Im sorry. I thought that was what he ment about "pedal".
They look kind of like pedals I guess.
Thanks for the posts.
I guess that makes sense. I new the air coming out the engine wasn't diverted. I dont know how this feels because the last time I was on a plane was in eight grade. I reclined back and I felt the chair hit the guys knees behind me. So I raised my seat back up. I thought the seats were comfortable enough that i didnt think reclining was necessary. I just reclined to see how it ...Jump to post
On a normal jet engine (where all the air goes through combustion and out the back where the back is just exaust) the trust reverser is to flap like things that bend in stopping all air going backwards and bouncing it off diverting it forward. On a bypass (some air goes through combustion and most o...Jump to post
I had a simalar situation at the airport that is kind of close to my house (quad city airport) in moline, IL I wasn't taking any pictures. I just like going and watching the planes at the airport. I just got flightsimulator 2002 and I was setting up a few United Airlines 747-400 routes. I went to set up Ohare-Kai Tak and Kai Tak wasn't in there. So I went to ual.com to see if I spelled it right and it wasn't on there route map. I thought since United is kind of going down the toilet (No offen...Jump to post
Yeah. I used to just hate airbus because of there completely computerised system that took direct control from the pilot. You see i want to become a pilot for an airline and i figured they would be the start of automated aircraft. The pilot would no longer be a pilot but a monitor. That just pissed ...Jump to post
I saw this on this forum a couple of months ago and I emailed United with this video attachment. They said that the they too a 737-300 and they towed the unmanned truck with that bigger truck that you see in front of it. Right before the person in the cockpit spooled up the engines the let the truck...Jump to post
Are you all sure that united is falling. I dont think that they have downsised any. In fact if you go to their site you'll see that they added some more routes. And i think that they are the first to have there entire fleets cockpit doors reinforced. Im not sure who to believe here. but i think im g...Jump to post
