RE: Why Does ATC Tower Refer To Airliners As "Company"

They don't use ATC callsigns when pointing out traffic. Example, if I'm told to follow a "Brickyard E170" it could be US Air colors, or American Eagle Colors. If I'm told follow "Mercury E170" It could be Delta or United. The same goes for many other regionals that fly for several airlines. So you'l...

Will be interesting to watch the investigation unfold on this one.

One thing can be said without a doubt. The rate of pilots taking perfectly normal, fully functioning aircraft and crashing them into the ground recently is becoming unreal.. Asiana/Air France/Colgan/Comair

While Jet-A's weight by volume does SLIGHTLY vary as a result of the factors you have listed, it is not enough to make enough difference to actually factor in. The number is roughly ~7 pounds per gallon.. That's pretty rough just going from memory, might be like 6.75 of 7.25.

I havent tracked this thread 100% yet but I'm shocked to not read of the comparisons to the Colgan 3407 crash. Remember that one, essentially power pulled back to descend, airspeed bled off, power not increased and plane stalled and then crashed. Granted that wasn't at the runway, but still a power/...
