I admire Lufthansa from an aviation geek's perspective (747s and A340s!) but agree that they don't deserve to be rated 5 stars for their service. I don't find their service bad per se, but there are other airlines, even in Europe (such as TAP) that far exceed Lufthansa in terms of service.

NRT-ICN was a double daily 747-400 until the early 2000s, then it was a double daily 777-200ER until September 2006 when the frequency was reduced to 1x daily. The flight was downgauged to a 737-800 in March 2014, and UA ultimately pulled out of the route in October 2017.

One of the most comfortable experiences I've had in economy class was flying on the JAL 787-8 with 2-4-2. 787 with 8-abreast is my favourite (since the cabin is wider on the 787 vs A330/A340 by around 9 inches). It's just a very rare configuration.

Kunsan Air Base has civilian flights to Jeju on Jin Air and Jeju Air. The airfield is owned and operated by the USAF, but the passenger terminal is operated by Korea Airports Corporation. If I'm not mistaken, USAF personnel provide ATC services to these civilian flights.

East Asia-DXB/DOH/IST-South America instead of the traditional US stopover that requires clearing immigration at the connecting point. Flying via Europe is also an option, although the layovers can be longer.

PUS will be on an A350. I'm wondering if it's for performance reasons as the surrounding terrain makes long haul flights challenging at PUS.

I wish Finnair success with their new long haul routes.

Busan was actually supposed to start in July 2020 but was pushed back. Finnair management has mentioned that the Busan-Helsinki sector will be weight restricted by approximately 30 seats due to terrain surrounding the departure path at PUS.

Living in the Toronto and Hamilton area, I've flown out of YYZ, YTZ, BUF and DTW. Haven't used YHM, YKF or IAG yet. Loved flying out of BUF when I used to live 1 hour away since parking and security was a breeze. The waiting time at the border has always been reasonable for me.

Any aircraft type that allows me to sit by the window AND allows me to be no more than one seat away from the aisle (in Economy class). For long haul flights, that would be the 767 and most A330/A340s. For short haul, it's less important, but I think I would choose to take an A220 or E-Jet over a 73...

Basically almost every current East Asian destination served by AC was a legacy CP destination, except Seoul (legacy AC) and Hong Kong (the latter was served concurrently by AC and CP before the merger, I believe). Osaka was also legacy AC, but whether it will return in the future is another story.
