Interesting information! I know DL offers connections in RDU but i'm not sure it's that much. Also it appears that a second daily RDU-SLC route starts 6/08/2020 and there will also be a few frequency adds on DL routes. It'll bring them up to 85 peak day departures. Getting closer to the 100 daily fl...Jump to post
They are actually hiring more MNL based Flight Attendants. ICN-MNL will either be served on the A350, A330NEO, or B777.
I believe they are keeping the MNL FA base for MNL-ICN though...so it's not quite laying off ALL "Asia-based Flight attendants"[/quote]
This was sent to me by a friend last night and many DL people i've met through my travels were talking about it online. Seems i'm not the only one who got the info as well. https://thepointsguy.com/news/delta-to-leave-tokyo-narita-for-haneda-axes-singapore-flights/?fbclid=IwAR1IOmMa3ngMx9JFuAQkYNwCm...Jump to post
Delta will transfer our full operation of U.S.-Tokyo services from Narita to Haneda, the city's closest and most convenient airport. With this move, we will become the largest U.S. carrier serving Haneda, with seven daily flights between Haneda and Seattle, Detroit, Atlanta, Honolulu, Minneapolis, L...Jump to post

This calls for an "I told ya so!". Congrats to AUS, SJC, BNA, and BOS!Jump to post
It looks like DL got its wish and this is the end of NRT-SIN/MNL! I wouldn't go that far yet. DL is currently looking at serving them non-stop from SEA. Got a source for that? SEA-SIN strikes me as wholly improbable with SQ on the route. IMHO the reconfigged 777/77L and 359s all have too many premi...Jump to post

Route planning was at one of our employee events and put a map up of all the Hubs and Focus cities. No surprise that AUS was on there, but so was SJC. Was it a map showing the target "focus city" markets for growth or actual RDU-style focus cities? How many focus cities did it show? It di...Jump to post

It may be a small number but I believe of the domestic 757-200s (non-charter) only the 75H and 75G are ETOPS -- 21 frames. Yup and the A321NEO's will be replacing them on west coast-Hawaii routes. Which will be a much welcomed upgrade. They only thing i'll miss is boarding at door 2. It'll be reall...Jump to post
Any source for this conjecture? I find it hard to believe an order is imminent for an aircraft Boeing doesn't even have authority to offer yet. From the CEO himself. He talked about it at an employee event my friend was at yesterday. I personally think it’ll be a 787 order as DL will need to start ...Jump to post
Rumor has it a 787 or 797 order is imminent with a need of 20 aircraft at minimum. Sure would love to see the 787 in DL colors. Any source for this conjecture? Or DL drops MNL completely and starts SEA-SIN on the A350 or SEA-KIX-SIN on the 767/339. There is a LARGE US corporate presence in Singapore as its the SE Asia HQ of many multinationals especially finance. Sure but Delta's A350s will have range issues doing that flight. If only they had 787s on ord...Jump to post
I remember DL wanted to upgauge AUS with a 717 but later cancelled plans to do so in 2018. It still looks like G7/9E will be operating the route through the summer, but I wonder if DL will plan the upgauge at all. I think that was mainly due to the delay in the A220's. I firmly believe as productio...Jump to post

Interesting. I did note they officially announced the 330NEO will be the first widebody featuring all 4 cabins. So Wikipedia was right for a change.Jump to post
All I’m going to say is DL is adding more management to RDU. Types of positions that don’t exist outside of large stations or mini hubs. I do believe DL has more plans for RDU than people are willing to admit. Could be a cost saving measure more than flights, but moving labor. In 2018 and technolog...Jump to post

The AFA only brings in $38,000 a year more than they spend. The became part of the CWA as the AFA was going broke. That's because they contribute to all the CWA strategic funds and have access to these funds if they need them. The money for special negotiations, organizing campaigns etc all come fr...Jump to post
DL FAs will never have a union. The only people to blame for that is the IAM. Had IAM left and allowed AFA to run a real campaign last year, you’d be looking at 24,000 new AFA members. The support from all groups was there for AFA only. Instead the IAM combined their ramp and FA campaigns to give th...Jump to post

4 A330NEO’s will be delivered in 2019. All will have Delta One, Premium Select, Comfort+, and main cabin seats. Total of 291 pax. First routes not yet announced. Just a quick note. The first bases for the DL A220's will be NYC and SLC. LAX will not be getting an A220 base, as SLC is geographically in a better location for A220's to hit all west coast bases. LAX will instead open an A320 base. Other than that she looks beautiful!!! I am not doubting you, but...Jump to post

The only time i've known it to be required for window shades to be up for taxi, takeoff, and landing is on smaller regional jets with no viewing windows on the doors. For example on the CRJ's. Haven't seen anything posted about this incident that happened back in June. I wonder if we will ever see DL reach 100 flights at RDU. Thats always been the goal. I think growth has been slowed due to the A220 entry into service delays.
