So it looks like Avianca is going to bring the A332/B788 to IAD this fall according to Airlineroute https://www.routesonline.com/news/38/airlineroute/285927/avianca-nov-2019-bogota-washington-aircraft-changes/ The schedule is going to be: AV246 BOG0700 – 1226IAD 330 x5 AV246 BOG0700 – 1226IAD 788 5 ...Jump to post
Here come the AA transcon cuts at JFK! DCA BOS 15 daily on a LCC is a ludicrous waste of slots. How can you have shuttle service without flying at least once an hour during the day? 15 daily is anything but a waste of slots. If JetBlue is currently trying to rebuild and achieve higher profitability...Jump to post
I'm under the belief that they were bingo fuel on their way into DCA. The line of thunderstorms was fast approaching and over the airport not more than 5 minutes after they landed. If they had enough fuel, surely they would have gone to RIC where they have CBP facilities and extra ramp/gate space.Jump to post
I fly in and out of BOS quite often (in fact most of the time on the BOS-WAS flights), so I think I will chip in. For Boston departures you will likely depart 22R (see the city on the turn out), 27 (fly over the city), or 9 (won't see the city at all). 15R/33L is rarely used for short haul departure...Jump to post
IIRC, didn't AC say they were planning to fly YVR/YYC-IAD on the A220, among other new routes?Jump to post
Lets not get ahead of ourselves. I'm not sure where this notion that BWI is struggling for BA comes from. BA has been at BWI since 1985, the vast majority of the time as daily, and even had 777 service for a bit. PIT could only hope to do as well as BWI. I saw a report that BWI is paying BA million...Jump to post

There are so many (and so few) things that could have gone this catastrophically wrong, from the predictable to the extraordinarily-unlikely, that I think we're gonna find that guessing at what it might have been is going to be pretty-useless. Could be anything from a major mechanical failure to a ...Jump to post
With less assets around the country, JetBlue is also very particular about ensuring that equipment is placed where it can best restart the operation. So I just want to be clear. The Southwest flight DID NOT overrun the runway. The aircraft slowed to taxi speed, got clearance to vacate at the end of the runway, and slid off the asphalt while vacating. In fact, the air traffic controller even gave the American flight behind him takeoff clearance as...Jump to post
Looks like Spirit isn't looking to attract just the leisure travelers for the to and from BWI, perhaps also targeting business travellers looking to fly out and come back the same day. Going 2x daily on the RDU-BWI route (one RT in the morning and one RT in the evening) mimics the flights between Ba...Jump to post

As I mentioned, the problem would be the A321s flying westbound from a 7,000 foot runway. It would take a payload hit. Probably a big one too. A321s are not that nimble on short runways, especially for long flights like LGA-LAX. Sure they can do LGA-ATL/CLT-MCO, but we're talking half or less than ...Jump to post
In theory, yes...but DL and UA fly internationally-configured planes on NYC-LAX/SFO (UA uses 752s, 772s, and 788/781s with an occasional 789). DL in particular uses planes that would take a severe hit from LGA that they don't from JFK. Presumably AA would move the 321-T's from JFK which are low den...Jump to post
And that 8am JFK-LHR on a VS A346 does well. There are many pax connecting from that flight to VS’ LHR-LOS and LHR-DEL flights as they both depart late evening. DL can at least share in the revenue on the JFK-LHR portion of those connecting itineraries. Yeah this flight is actually pretty useful fo...Jump to post

I'd be shocked to see SEA-BDL.
Indeed. That just screams there must be another flight or two to come. That just screams that the crew leaving the airplane at 630pm will pick it up again the next morning. For 13 hours? Doesn’t seem like efficient utilization. Is there a maintenance base there? I’m pretty sure it’s for crew rest. ...Jump to post

If the route announcement is at 11 am Central time would that not indicate something out of ORD or Houston being those are in the Central time zone. One would think if it was out of EWR it would have been listed out of the Eastern Time zone Well their HQ is in Chicago, so I would assume that would ...Jump to post
