I listened the podcast was certainly pro- shut-it-down but it was more about urban planning than airport intricacies. The guest, Steve Litt of the PD, says it’s be a very pricey project because of the cost to connect a future park with Neighborhoods on the south of the freeway. Nothing will happen ...Jump to post
Yes, 6L/24R is open. They were initially planning to open 6L/24R and subsequently close the other parallel. That plan is on hold until Spring 2020 most likely. That being said, 6R/24L is still closing on an almost daily basis for a few hours to catch up on maintenance that was put off when the othe...Jump to post
There's a massive shortage of gates at CLE, so once UA's lease on concourse D is up, I think that it will be dedicated to WN's operations (especially given that the concourse can handle all of the Boeing 737s and nothing larger). Had UA given up concourse D from the start (before all of the ULCCs c...Jump to post
Speaking of Delta, looking at the CLE site right now, the flight status window showed 7 Delta flights using 7 different gates within a two hour period. B2,3,4,and 6 (no surprise) and then also A9, A11, and A12. That's potentially got the ramp crew spread all over a lot of real estate. Or does Delta...Jump to post
Would like to see them back at BKL. And this way, it would be a different product in a way compared to what WN is offering. Their historic BKL service was BKL-Detroit-MKE, but BKL-MKE and a BKL-Detroit would be great to see. I think they served DET over DTW, but not sure. Did Midwest Express ever f...Jump to post
This is not good for Cleveland. Service to European mainland is what is an add. How is a connection in Dublin any better than Washington Dulles/Charlotte/Detroit/Toronto?? Pretty pitiful article though. The comments are overwhelmingly against any airport upgrades. The prevailing attitude is that it doesn't matter at all, you can tell most people that hang out there don't travel out of Cleveland. Ever. Also, hilarious how the only reason the PD is against the tax incr...Jump to post

I thought CLE would not come back and it is returning. In CLE FI just took a year off, but will return as long as the MAX flies. So this would be the opposite if this isn't a rumor. Definitely not a consistent strategy if it plays out that way. Is this just speculation or has this been confirmed?Jump to post

The new Faa stats have been released. I see the nice Hopkins gain listed us at 48th in the country but I cannot find Burke. It was listed last year or am I jus blind. It looks like CLE is #44 , just ahead of PIT, IND, CVG and CMH. Also BKL is on the 2nd chart. Traffic there fell there by 82 pax: 20...Jump to post
Detroit, as far as I am concerned. Massey! You can't tease us like that. Please share the rumor. Sorry, I probably shouldn't have said anything. Two UA 777 diversions at CLE now...PUJ-CLE and PEK-CLE, due to poor weather in EWR. Also a 757 from LAX and a 737-900 from LAS. Don't mean to be that guy but, the first one, UA88, came from PEK. The second one, UA87, came from PVG . That's what I meant, but didn't catch my error in time to edit! :)Jump to post
There is interesting speculation in Crain's Cleveland about the sale of the inactive half of the Ford engine works near the airport as well as the old Walton Hills stamping plant to a single buyer. Actually, it’s WN that’s building up in CLE. In 2017, WN surpassed UA as the dominant carrier. They have increased flights by 13 percent since then, making CLE a pretty decent operation for them.
