If I remember correctly B North (old EA) is higher that B South because of baggage sorting under B North.

Really nice article. I fly into CDG for work about once every one to 1.5 years. It's an interesting airport for sure. Looking forward to your second installment.

DUS Question

I flew out of DUS last Thursday and saw a LH A380 and a 747-8 lined up behind us on takeoff. Do those aircraft fly there normally or where they there perhaps for maintenance?

Thanks

DL has flown ATL-YHZ on Saturdays for a couple of summers in the 2012-2014 range. It was nice.

Re: Official: Delta will postpone A220 operations

Cameras covering the 24 Hours of Daytona captured a Delta A220 taking off from the nearby airport -- a training or orientation flight, perhaps? It was in rainy, windy weather, so I wondered if Delta had this planned or saw an opportunity for bad-weather experience for its new bird? They are trainin...

Re: Delta flight number question

Delta calls them 'round robin' flights. Strange, "round robins" are generally two stops and back, example - PHX-TPA-MCO-PHX As someone mentioned the ATL-CMH-ATL is called "out and back" That was back in the day. Those types of flights are pretty rare now. These new 'RR' flights ...

Re: OAG Changes 9/23/2018:AA Adds PHL-SRQ; DL Drops CVG-MKE; Many F9 Changes

Is Delta out of YHZ? No. It just doesn't take the route very seriously. My wife is from there so I keep up with it. Just a summer schedule for some reason. Flights were pretty full all summer. The thing is traffic at YHZ falls off a cliff in January/February and really until Easter quite frankly. E...

Re: Delta, WestJet to form JV

Delta flew ATL-YHZ on Saturday only for 1-2 summers three or four years ago if I remember correctly. Delta is quite weak in YHZ at the moment. I was lucky enough to catch that YHZ-ATL service once while it was in existence. It was great. At that time DL was also doing DTW and LGA from YHZ. Now they...

I noticed at ATL @ the Signature Ramp area a Kingdom of Bahrain 747-400 is parked today. Anyone have any idea why it's here in ATL?

Re: Longest fuselage (proportional) length difference?

L1011-500 was indeed a shrink. I used to load them on the ramp back in the day. The tail section was shorter and you had less room to work with when hooking up your container loader. You had very little margin for error..

Eastern did it in ATL all the time. I was amazed the first time I saw it. I used to work the ramp for DL. I watched two EAL DC-9's back into each other once. They didn't cancel either flight. This was around 1985 or so.

Re: What was the "Brat Pack?"

It was easy to do in the 80's and early 90's. A buddy of mine and myself would fly ATL-BDL-ATL back in the day because it was a steak dinner and we made very little money back then. So FC, steak and a few beers for free maybe two-three times a month. Also one time a buddy had a route map on his gara...

Re: Why isn't the 764 more successful on TATL flights?

Delta ordered it to specifically fit into LGA gate spaces because it was replacing L-1011's. I'm sure the wing design has something to do with it's range and altitude 'problems'. It wasn't originally designed to fly JFK-LHR shuttle missions.

On a side note has DL left YHZ altogether? It looks like they stop flying there later this fall.
