TWO ILS FIXES for LAX are renamed for Kobe and Gianna Bryant

It looks like the FAA renamed two fixes to honor Kobe and his daughter. Besides these two, have others come across fixes named in memory of someone or something?

UA SFO-FLL cut unfortunate - no more UA flights from south Florida to SFO. Maybe this flight returns for the winter season? We will see. Doesn't UA still fly SFO-MIA? I know they were doing that last winter for a short period. That only leaves Jetblue for SFO-FLL and AA for SFO-MIA for nonstop flig...

Re: FIN12 Odd SFO Departure Over San Bruno Mountain

Actually, if you listen to the audio the crew checks in with NorCal after departure which is routine. NorCal then clears them to 10,000 feet (normal so far and still flying roughly the runway heading). We can't hear the transmission from NorCal but the readback was to fly a left turn to 280 (so a sm...

lack of gate space on the G concourse at SFO at that time. If they arrived early and the gate is occupied they will be held where ATC can find space so they are not in the way. Re: Airports with most 747 service

For SFO the only two B747 operators (Pax) that is pretty much year round now is QF 1x SFO-SYD and CA 1x SFO-PEK. KE and BA will switch between the B747 and B777. Currently (Feb18) the BA flight is a B744 while the KE flight is a B77W. So SFO bounces between 2-4 B744/B748 ops throughout the year now.

It had a smidge over 48 hours on the ground in GSO not 24. But I agree that seems rather short.
