Delta is currently taking delivery of an A350 N514DN the plane is flying now (DL9975) you’d expect this to go from TLS to ATL right? No, it’s going to NRT instead. This seems very unusual and uneconomical unless there’s a benefit for DL, is this a way to get around the tariffs or is there a genuine...Jump to post
Aircraft is N1217A, a 26 year old 767 freighter operated by Atlas for Amazon Amazon Cargo is not a good employer so far. Pilots have to work extra-long hours for a relatively less pay. So this is eventually bound to happen. And the airline is struggling to hold on to their current pilots and to bri...Jump to post

Why did they repaint it white, seems like a waste of money? Even if this one is leased and the owner wants it white, you would think Emirates would split the savings of not having to repaint it with the owner and they would gladly accept since there is a 99.99% chance this aircraft gets scrapped. I...Jump to post
Al Baker is smart to pull the plug on this investment. However, things Qatar has touched also seem to be jinxed. For instance, they bought into Cathay Pacific.... And Jet Airways (9W).... That was Etihad. People in this thread are confusing Etihad with Qatar. Air Italy is their first major question...Jump to post
Tereul is indeed an airport where aircraft are scrapped as well. KLM sent their 747s to Tereul for scrapping :( A388 Agreed, google map search shows image with planes being taken apart.. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Teruel+Airportemail@example.com,-1.2256031,301m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0xd5e75e267...Jump to post

I read here that AA tail was expensive and complicated to apply due to the gradients.
As I was admiring the A380 Honu(s) of ANA, I realized that it must be a complicated process for the Airbus paint team to paint the plane, given the complicated livery. I thought of the same when I saw Etihad's livery on A380. So that brought up this question in my mind, what are some of the most com...Jump to post

Does it matter that an A220-500 would eat into A320 sales? Presumably it would eat into 737 sales too. Airbus can't build A320s fast enough and there is still plenty of scope for ramping up A220 production. Over time you could imagine focussing the A320 series on 180-250 seats and A220 on 120-180 s...Jump to post
AI 103/4 was on the 77W and not 77L. DEL-EWR (Afternoon departure from delhi) would be better than AMD-EWR. AI used to operate a 77W on AMD-BOM-EWR but now uses an A320 for the AMD-BOM sector. So that is a capacity loss of 4F/25J/65Y(105Y if 40 seats are blocked). What was the LF with 77W on DEL-IA...Jump to post
VT-AND completed AI104 in 12hr54min. Not bad for a overweight parts plane. If these birds are capable, AI should try AMD-EWR on 787, that should capture more non-stop traffic and free up LHR slots. AMD has SIGNIFICANT traffic to UK, more than USA. Plus, any pax to USA can either be flown in via BOM...Jump to post
My SUPER SUPER Optimistic guess will be Indigo Airline of India. They have a habit of ordering 100+ planes (narrowbody ofcourse) and they have been looking to go international for a while now. While ordering 40 at a go will be bit risky move, if anyone can pull it off, it will be Indigo. It will be ...Jump to post
Indian aviation is the last place anyone should invest. It would be like buying the worst house in a good location. Haha, very good analogy, its like buying a house mainly for the piece of land, then gutting the house and doing a new construction..something similar will be needed with AI as well. T...Jump to post
Neither, the GoI will find some compelling reason to keep AI in government control. It would be Indigo. The condition is that the Government will own 51% of the combined entity. So now the Government will get to run Indigo too. Do you have any source for the fact that the Government wants to own 51...Jump to post
Neither, the GoI will find some compelling reason to keep AI in government control. This guy doesn't earn enough that has to do this? Justice is served. Of course he does, but it's about entitlement. Sadly, as a state owned entity in the developing world, this particular kind of corruption is called out, but the same act for a private entity would likely not. Completely agree, sad...Jump to post

They should get some A350s and start non-stops to the US.
I think AA is refining PHL's role as a hub in the network. They seem to be shifting capacity heavily dependant on connections to CLT so that they can up the O&D ratio of PHL flights and maybe relieve some of the congestion there. PHL's top connection focus will probably be for the international...Jump to post
