People act like Hawaiian was gouging people on interisland flights. I never saw that.Jump to post
Maybe IAD also? HNL-IAD or HNL-BWI nonstop service could be added by HA in order to provide easier access to Washington, DC from Hawaii. There is some government travel between HNL and DC with all 4 of Hawaii's members of Congress having offices on the island of Oahu, with Honolulu being the capita...Jump to post

I have a few friends there, and all were very hopeful that HQ would move to the suburbs. They aren't very happy about this at all. I'm glad it stayed in the Loop. If it moved out to the 'burbs, I'd be re-evaluating my employment situation. Commuting from my neighborhood to current HQ is one train i...Jump to post

So that puts us at Alaska, Spirit, and WestJet with Disney liveries... In addition to those you listed, a few others that I know of: -TAM has at least one -China Eastern has a few -Southwest has (had?) one promoting Coco -ANA has their Star Wars planes, which is somewhat Disney at the least conside...Jump to post
Positions in open time have begun appearing in the flight attendant’s scheduling software starting April 1st. However, a March 15th start date is rumored Here is a sample pairing that indicates inter island flights will go on sale from the start: https://ibb.co/8YFCdtY If I read that bid sheet righ...Jump to post
It's a scheduled charter flight. They operate it but the tickets is sold buy a travel agency in new york.
I'm of the agreement Delta probably gets 5, AA/UA get three, and HAL gets the final slot. I'm very surprised they are giving out twelve. Reward for opening up the previously restricted airspace around Yokota Air Base? So much for Delta eventually wanting to move MSP-HND to SEA. I'm going to go out ...Jump to post

Not sure it will be in range westbound with those winds. Additionally, you realize there is no diversion airports between Cali and Hawaii? You really want to be on a plane running low on fuel cruising into hawaii? I really doubt it has range for either of these thats seems unrealistic missions for ...Jump to post
Blue Hawaiian is the only logical one. Hawaiian could start Atlantic flights in 6 months. JetBlue has the domestic feed. Why would SWA want anything to do with B6. Two different airlines. AS would be to much of a hassle right now. Maybe in 5 years. UA would be interesting just for the JFK slots. But...Jump to post
So if I read that Tribune article correct, they are going to retask some of their hub flights to do westbound 'red eyes'...I don't know if arriving early, EARLY in the morning in the Islands is a good thing. I understand the late departures but the logistics on the Hawaii side would be tough I know...Jump to post
Just flew HNL-EWR this week (connecting from Hawaiian), that airport is a complete craphole, not sure $200 million would be enough even if they threw it all at HNL. Honolulu is going through a modernization right now. The real issue is the State of Hawaii controls everything at Honolulu and it take...Jump to post

You have 2 different flights usually you have the prerace group that flies out on Thursday to the track. Then you have the race day group that flyout either Saturday or Sunday. Fun part is to watch the race after the race to all the flight back to Clt and jqfJump to post
China made Hawaiian choose. It was either operate to PEK or TPE. But couldn't do both. I haven't heard of that - why target HA with that, and not other carriers that fly to both TPE and the PRC? When it dropped TPE in 2014, HA cited low demand - not government interference - as its core reason. ......Jump to post
As HKG has been "in the pipeline" for many years now, who knows if that will be the next Asia gateway. Several years ago when HA pulled out from TPE due to low load factors and MNL due to low yields (Altho i've heard it was due to political when HA wanted to start PEK and China basically ...Jump to post
To me a simple idea that might work is just trip some circuit breakers. Wouldn't be 100% but they are not clearly labeled and you would need to know which ones to trip.Jump to post
Just a thought from looking at the Swift Air logo.. Are they part of the Swift that is a major trucking company here in the US? I hope they're not. The Swift (Trucking Company) are for good reason, the laughing stock of the trucking industry due to their poor safety & accident record. When Swif...Jump to post

The decision to divert is with the captain and the captain alone. If they think they can do a better job then they're welcome to get their pilots licence, get a job and earn their command. One must remember that there are hundreds of other people onboard that need considered. Is fatigue an issue or...Jump to post
The picture shows hard right rudder deflection and the crash location is way off to the right when taking off to the northeast. Correlation? First off you want to try to divert to the closes airport to the destination. That gives the airline and passengers options. Weather- optimal you want to divert on the backside of the wx but like last night that wasn't a option coming from the southeast. So bwi and iad got the brunt of the diversion...Jump to post
I wonder if in retrospect the decisions for so many to divert to the DC area are being regretted, because the line was blasting south and absolutely nailed that area, as we can see from that pic of hail above. So they just got delayed there for more hours, and looks like many crews timed out. Also ...Jump to post
The average fleet age of almost 30 years sounds promising....not Well considering their fleet consists of used ex-QF 763s and 762s, is it any wonder the fleet age is that? Swift's 734 fleet is of the same vintage. Pretty typical for the ACMI guys. I wonder if Swift might pick up 737-800’s and retir...Jump to post

I would have liked to see LIH and KOA from ORD for better connecting access for those flying from east coast areas. Probably can't carry enough out of Kona or Lihui to make money.
