Re: When was your last MD-80 flight and how was it?

Took a MD-80 joyride on AA a few weeks ago from CMH-DFW and DFW-MSY. No issues with either flight.

Re: United MCO hub?

I worked for UA at their MCO hub when it opened with 50 daily flights in 1991. Cities served were LAX, SFO, DEN, ORD, MDW, BOS, BDL, EWR, LGA, PHL, IAD, DCA, JAX, TPA, SRQ, PBI, FLL, MIA, RSW, and MEX. United also operated a flight to MKE for a brief period that was maybe Saturday only. Originally I...

Why oh why can’t carriers move beyond billboard titles? They should have stopped with Pan Am.

Re: Why did UA dehub MIA?

As a former UA employee that did tours of duty at both MCO and MIA during this period, I can shed some light on a few things. As for MCO, UA built up their operation there in 1991 and maxed out at 50 flights a day. Originally, MCO was planned to be UA’s Latin hub but then Pan Am died and UA acquired...

So long LH in CLT. I don’t see any way that this route can sustain two carriers.

Re: Did United ever fly JFK-MIA?

I worked in MIA between 1994 and 2004. Prior to 9-11, service was to LGA and EWR. If I recall correctly, service never resumed to LGA or perhaps only for a short time afterword before service moved to JFK. I don’t believe MIA had JFK service any earlier unless it was way before they established the ...

Re: Supposed UA pax films bags being thrown from the belly of a UA flight

Something looks fishy here. First off, is this some new floating belt loader? Where are the rear wheels? Second, if this is the front bin that is being unloaded, where is the engine? Where is the wing? Third, how come the building in the background is so close to the back of the airplane? Lastly, if...

Re: New AA Astrojet with logo off center

Kind of looks dumb being off center. While I think US Airways did a pretty good job of accurately reproducing the retro paint jobs, the later post merger American ones were lame with the inaccurate gray/silver bodies when they should have been white. Do it right or don't do it at all.

Re: UA Denies Boarding to Non-Rev Girl in Leggings, Social Media Revolts

Another case of the public all getting their panties in a wad over something that they don't know the full story on and UA doing a terrible job on informing them of why this happened. Non rev travelers are held to a higher standard of dress than the flying public and the employee should have made su...

Would like to add that JetBlue started RNO-JFK in May of 2015. DL over the years has intermittently done ATL and going way back, CO did Saturday RNO-EWR for a brief period.
