At what phase (before pushback) are pax loaded?

Is it during or after CDU, FMS, MCDU, etc preflight? I believe it varies from company to company, but generally, I just want to know at what point of the aircraft being stationary are the passengers loaded?

Re: Pan Am European Ops

My grandfather flew the Internal German Service for a few years before returning back to the US, he was on the 727 flying out of Tempelhof, he would fly all over Europe and occasionally the USSR. I was told that he and the rest of the crew felt like they were being watched all the time while in Mosc...

Does LiveATC have archives from the 80s?

I want to find a JFK ATC recording from the late 80s because I know an old Pan Am captain and he was based out of KJFK until 1988 and I thought it would be rather interesting to hear him over the comms all those years ago, I have all of his old logbooks so I know what date to look for. The only ATC ...

How long will Kalitta Charters II keep the 727?

I always see them flying around on flightradar24, I was extremely excited to see that one landed at my home airport of BDL, even better is that she's an ex Pan Am bird, not only that but my own grandfather flew that very plane for Pan Am. But this wonderful company is one of the very last to operate...

Re: How do I find old flight numbers?

Thanks guys this actually helped me out quite a bit, I'll have to go out and research some OAG's, surely I'll be able to find plenty of routes. Thanks again!

How do I find old flight numbers?

I picked up a DC10 for Prepar3D and I want to fly online on vatsim with it, but I'm running into trouble finding the old flight numbers and the routes. I fly according to real world routes, flight numbers, and aircraft types used on those routes so I need to know these flight numbers. I've looked at...

Re: Is there a 747-200 cockpit on public display in U.S.?

That's perfect, how many differences are there as far as the cockpit goes between the 747-200 and 747-100? Because from what I know the only differences in the two are different fuselage lengths and different fuel systems. Let's keep this answer to our valuable technical backgrounded folks... True ...

Is there a 747-200 cockpit on public display in U.S.?

I'm trying to develop a 747-200 addon for a flight simulator and I want to get realistic measurements and closeup photos of all the panels and use that information in 3D modelling software. I know there is a simulator center in Miami that has a 747-200 sim but it is a little too pricey for me at thi...

Re: Someone explain "Lowest Usable Flight Level"

So in the U.S. TA and TL are both FL180? Because I know that in a lot of other countries in the charts they say what the transition altitude is published as, but the transition level information must be gotten from ATC because it changes due to barometric changes. And also, if the TA was 3000 and TL...

Someone explain "Lowest Usable Flight Level"

So I've been reading part 91, I saw a chart for finding out lowest usable flight level, and despite reading into it I still don't get it. If the lowest usable flight level is FL185 do you say your altitudes as thousands below that altitude? Or for example, once you pass FL185 is that when you change...

Can you get up close with the planes at KVCV?

This has been asked quite a lot but there are a few specific planes I wanted to see for nostalgia reasons and they are parked at Victorville. I know this is an AFB but I've seen some videos of people either taking a tour or walking around there. But if I can't get any sort of permission to get to se...

Finding Vintage Aviation Videos

My Grandfather was a Pan Am Captain so we have all of his old logbooks. And (I know its almost impossible) but I want to find an actual plane spotting video where he is in the plane. So I scoured the internet but I could not find anything. I know there must be one out there, I just don't know where ...
