I think people need to chill a little. Many people who are not pilots have a basic view that regardless of situation, any problems under V1, then you must stop. There is ample runway available to stop. A decision to do something else will always be wrong. Life in reality is more complex than that.Jump to post

Given the very niche nature of these new flights, I wonder if they might pull out a wild contingency plan (like ground the whole fleet was) if they cannot agree with unions. I am quite certain Qantas do this on their weekday peak time SYD MEL flights, although i have no evidence to back this up. Almost every day they seem to cancel and combine 1-2 such flights. It’s not a huge deal as they operate every 15-30 minutes although it means losing pre assigned seats.Jump to post

I generally don't like long haul flights that arrive at 6am. I can't sleep well on planes and you end up having a whole day feeling crap. Hopefully the flights will start out at SYD to allow SYD-PER on the 788. Would definitely give that a go. Fantastic report. I remember a few years ago connecting domestic to domestic at BOM. Had about 90 minutes. But we actually landed at the international terminal and got bussed to domestic...
