Actually just saw a new photo, why are people jumping from the front of the wing? I thought you evac from the black of the wings and the flaps act as a slide? Stupid to see people jumping off the leading edge.

It is called a Short Field Performance package, however didn't think available on the 737 classic series, only available on the NG. Maybe take a look at the below link hope it helps

I can imagine it now. 747-400 rolling down the runway with flaps 0, pilots need Flaps 20 for takeoff and by the time the flaps are at 20 plane already at the end of the runway.

Not a good idea. What if the flaps fail to deply? Too many other things to think about during the takeoff run.

Sometimes when I eat at Ikea I quite like returning the tray on the little belt they have. Was at Costco a few months ago. Shared the table with a bunch of Chinese. Despite the bin and tray return being 5 steps they just got up and left their rubbish, half eaten food and everything for someone else ...

Strange enough fuel for QR921. Suppose they really wanna keep the title of the worlds longest flight and not divert at all.
Malaysia Airlines diverted to MEL this afternoon to take on extra fuel. I also noticed yesterdays EK AKL-DXB went via Christchurch to top up!

NZ6 to LAX has literally just landed at Nadi for their fuel stop. NZ24 to YVR and NZ8 to SFO have not stopped.. so maybe these 2 flights have enough fuel, but not the LAX one, unless they will stop at HNL?

I remember a few years back they went to all that effort to repaint one 744 but never did any revenue flights?

From what I recall, they had planned to retire them before MH370 went missing, and MH17 got shot down. With their horrid financial situation, they had no need for the 777 as they were cutting down on long haul routes, and the A330 was a better fit into the Australian and New Zealand market. Great report. The Qantas 330's are fantastic nowadays. I flew them Syd-Bkk earlier this year and couldn't fault them.
Their business class is pretty sweet but could only get it from Mel-Syd as they dont upgrade discount economy on intl flights boo lol.

I recall PMDG said they are doing the 747 again because its Rob's favorite plane. You are right they are becoming more rare in real life, however the 747-8 is used by a few freight companies. I have the 777 for FSX however never bothered to rebuy it for P3D. I prolly will buy the 744 as Qantas still...

Noticed something happened to last nights UA99 so didn't go out
UAL 2055 is scheduled to land in MEL shortly making it the 2nd UA 787 this morning.
Looks like the previous flight got cancelled.

Black Saturday Bushfires (Feb 7, 2009). I was a fire volunteer at the time, so was at the station listening to everything on the radio.. awful. The next day was meant to go to Kinglake but was not required.
173 people died that day.

Correct. No camera or phone on the tour. I did it back in November. They did say someone dropped a camera on a wing and it caused lots of damage. No idea if that is true.

Perhaps they don't want phones due to security (IE could remotely detonate a bomb?)
