Re: Boeing 737MAX Grounded Worldwide Q3 2019

One small bit of tragic irony will be firing a CEO welcomed by many for his engineering background due to an epic engineering cock up. Sad but truly deserved. That is a very irrational and emotional reaction. The current CEO made no decisions on the 737-MAX. That's all on Jim McNearney. All of it. ...

Wait, did anyone actually read the article? If you did, you'd find it is click bait using the MAX tragedy as a vehicle to vent frustration about outsourcing. All the fine article says is: It says NOTHING like the absurdly exaggerated message above, "737MAX, designed by third world engineers&qu...

Re: Boeing 737MAX Grounded Worldwide Q2 2019

After years of McNerney's MBA outsourcing/business venture experiments, it seems that the conclusion by the current CEO, is that it doesn't make that much sense after all for Boeing. Some outsourcing will make sense, but far less. Reading that article is not condemning the MAX at all, but rather th...

I don't think Muilenburg is or should be described as an "honest engineer", nor have I described him as such or even insinuated such a description. What he is, is an engineer who knows Boeing very well, having made his career at the company, and understands the product they make on a leve...

Let's not pretend anyone would be talking about or insinuating Muilenburg's departure if it wasn't for the MAX grounding. Wonderful business decision - oh yes. Like when Boeing scrapped the 757 in 2004 because of the exact same reasons, i.e when Continental decided to switch their 752 orders to 738. Boeing patted themselves on the back for that decisions with accountants and a.net "experts" as cheerleaders on...

I flew on a 25 year old 752 earlier this spring, and it was awesome! Still had the original interiors (but with new seats) and in beautiful condition (FI naturally, who else)

I'm firmly in the camp, that Boeing should have continued developing the 757 line.

What I don't understand, if the engine is shut off, which is what I assume happened, shouldn't the rotation of the engine stop, and with it the cause of the shaking? Or did rotation continued due to the wind? Did you see Zeke's crystal-clear explanation above of what happened and when? "Single...
