I live in Atlanta...over 95% of my flights are nonstop. Once in a while I've connected in FRA or AMS.. but even those are rare. When I lived in Boston I did a lot of connecting for some reason but that was a long time ago.

Burbank.. My LAX flight was delayed from SFO by 5 hours! and I was rushed to the Burbank flight. Like stepping back in time. It was sunny, warm, no jet ways and a short stroll to the rental car building. Plus Hollywood was only a 15 minute drive.

When the airline makes an unscheduled landing to let off a passenger who is being disruptive, does the airline charge or attempt to charge the offending passenger for the cost ? I would think it would cost a decent amount of money in extra fuel and crew time when that happens.

I think Eastern ordered (2) 747's that were actually designated as 747-125's at some point, but cancelled the order and those 2 frames went to TWA. Eastern then ordered the L1011 and leased 2 747's from PA until the L1011's came on line.
