I totally agree with you, once I flew on an Aeropostal DC-9-32 and I seated next to the right engine; I just couldn't believe how noisy it was (specially when the thrust reversers were applied)!
Yes, actually the CRJ is a very expensive airplane, it costs between 20 and 22 million dollars, that is almost a 25% more than what an ERJ-145 costs.

The 767 in the picture is the one that LAPA operated on its flights to Atlanta a few years ago. The plane was going to be used by Air New Zealand, but after sept 11 they canceled the operation, and now it will be used
by SW for its flights to MIA and MAD.
