Hi all, I've received an opportunity to do an interview for a check-in agent role. Please excuse my ignorance but this is my first proper interview so I'm not sure what exactly is expected of me in terms of outfit. I've seen very mixed comments when trying to search online so I thought I'd ask mysel...
Jump to postFlew back into DUB from KEF this morning with Icelandair aboard TF-FIU 'Hekla Aurora', great to get an aircraft with a special livery for the first time. I was in J class and I'd say the soft product was definitely competitive. Breakfast was very good and service was excellent and very friendly and ...
Jump to postI'm in Reykjavik now, and was at RKV airport an hour ago. Regarding aviation, there seems to be a lot of precautionary covering of backsides in case something significant happens, but very little deviation from normal operations right now, and few people expecting realistically any real trouble in ...
Jump to postI took FI417 to KEF today. It was a short flight so I don't have too much to say. However, it was nice to experience the 757 for the first time, I found it comfortable in economy and you certainly wouldn't be able to tell its age, at least if you don't pay close attention. Service was very friendly ...
Jump to postThanks, I did try googling but found nothing. Is this kind of uniform uncommon?
Jump to postHello,
I was on an Egyptair flight a few days ago and one of the flight attendants was wearing epaulettes with three stripes, which I thought was for a first officer. If it matters, he was wearing a lanyard with the Airbus logo on it. What is the most likely explanation for this?
Back home now having taken MS775 (CAI-DUB) this morning. It was not a busy flight at all, lots of people in economy (including myself) managed to snag a row of 3 for themselves. The last row was blocked off (for crew I think). Breakfast consisted of a small portion of sliced chicken and beef along w...
Jump to postI took MS776 from Dublin to Cairo last Sunday in economy. It was actually really a quite good experience. Food was good (chicken curry with pilau rice and green beans and cherry tomatoes, salad, and a cake). Service was average, seats comfortable enough. Economy was pretty full and business class wa...
Jump to postApologies if this has been mentioned in a previous thread but TK seem to be adding a third DUB-IST frequency 4x weekly (TK1973/1974) operated by the A321neo later this summer (definitely operating in July anyway). Departs IST at 10am, arrives at DUB at 12:40pm, departs DUB at 1:30pm and arrives at ...

Jump to postJust saw that TK operated an A350 yesterday morning to Dublin! I never thought I'd see the day this would happen. It was one of the ones destined for Aeroflot so it has the great business class hard product. Oooh, exciting, I am flying them next weekend, would love to get the A350, but A330 will st...

Jump to postThanks for the new thread LAXintl, Somehow TK is getting away with this, learning about the 100% load factors on all US flights last week. In the current climate of, delayed/cancelled flights/lost bags/strikes... all around EU/US, TK is not alone. I am hearing crazy last minute cancellations from t...
Jump to postTC-LOE has been placed back in normal passenger service so it's just TC-LOB now operating cargo-only flights.
Jump to postIt looks like TC-JOM is preparing for its return to service. This is the A333 TK leased from Afriqiyah Airways.
Jump to postI haven't seen anybody mentioning this (if anybody has, then apologies), but the F pier at IST is now used for international flights. Pre-pandemic, this was the case, but since the pandemic it has been used for domestic flights up until recently.
Jump to postTC-JSU has been painted into a special livery for biofuel - I remember it had a special livery for 'The Lego Movie' years ago too. A bit of a strange aircraft choice if you ask me. I thought the A321neo would be a better aircraft for special liveries since they are used more widely and frequently th...
Jump to postTC-LTK has now entered service, operated a trip to Ankara and back to Istanbul this morning.
Jump to postTC-LOI, a TK A332, has been put back in service, so finally some progress on the A330-200 front. However, TC-JIR, which was one of non-ER A332s already back in service, has been parked for a while.
Jump to postTC-LND has had it's special livery removed and is now in the standard livery.
TK787, I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. Life can be very cruel unfortunately.
I just learned that TC-JOK, a TK A333, has been missing it's right winglet since New Year's Eve because another plane struck it's wingtip at EWR. I don't think I've seen this mentioned here but sorry if it was.
Jump to postJust a quick note, some disruption at IST due to severe winds, Lots of planes were placed in holding patterns and several others were diverted to AYT, ADB, ESB and TEQ.
Jump to postI wonder why are there no widebodies in Star colours after TC-LNB had left? It'd be a nice fit for a B77W or maybe B789/A359. Despite the fact that the Airbus A330– 223 is considered a long-haul aircraft, it was never used on long-haul routes. At TK, the TC-LNB was used on medium-haul routes to Afr...
Jump to postLatest TK news: -TK grounds 6 x 321s, 4 x 321NEOs due to low demand -Due to high COVID cases, TK suspends flights to Brazil, S.Africa, Nepal and Sri Lanka. I think TC-LSR, one of the 'grounded' neos is in Rome. It was flying to Malaga a while ago but diverted to Rome and I don't think it has flown ...
Jump to postA few questions: Have TC-JMH/JMJ/JMK been retired? The TK logo on Flightradar has been removed for these aircraft, which I think usually indicates that the aircraft is no longer with the airline. Does anyone know where the A350s will be heading this winter? Paris will be getting A330s instead of the...
Jump to postThanks for the new thread and thanks for the report OA260! Would love to try out TK business class some day. I was tracking that flight the other day and noticed that it had a very long taxi time, something close to 50 minutes I think! And also welcome back stylo777, didn't get a chance to say this ...
Jump to postTC-JRR, a TK A321, has been painted in the Star Alliance livery. This means that 8 of the JR A321s have the Star Alliance livery and 10 of them have some sort of a special livery! Star Alliance livery JRA JRB JRD JRL JRP JRR JRS JRY Other special liveries JRG (Discover the Potential) JRO (Euroleague)
Jump to postTK has started sending A321neos to Addis Ababa - interesting because this route used to be religiously operated by 737s, almost always 737-800s. I noted an extra one-off (test?) flight to Addis Ababa operated by an A321neo about a month or two ago, so I suspected that the route might switch to them....
Jump to postBy the way, TK's IST-DUB is getting a 77W today, any special occasion? The 777s are not so rare on the Dublin route anymore. In fact, the route used to be operated by 777s from April to mid July although there were much less frequencies. Even after then, a 777 has visited 2 or 3 more times. I think...
Jump to postHello all, I finished up my trip with TK on Wednesday. The first flight that I haven't yet reported on was onboard A321neo TC-LSC in economy. This was my first time on the neo, I thought the aircraft sounded beautiful. FAs were nice, not much other to report on though as I skipped the meal service. ...
Jump to postI flew back in this morning on TK1975, operated by an A330-300. Every seat in economy class was occupied while the seat map showed business class to be about half full, meaning that the overall LF was about 96%, which is fantastic. DUB is clearly working out nicely for them as I mentioned in the las...
Jump to postfil87 wrote:Can anyone give me some light on this. Which kind of seat does TK have in business class on their 737-8 MAX fleet? Is it the same seat which is installed on their A321neo? Any pics around?
Interestingly, TK is now using one of their 400 seat 777s, even for passenger flights although I've only seen it operates passenger flights to Amsterdam.
Jump to postHi all, I took two TK flights in the last week. First was TK1976 from Dublin to Istanbul operated by A333 TC-JNH. This was my first time on an A330, I found the economy seats to be comfortable. I thought the cabin was quite pretty. The (hot) meal was great, FAs very nice and despite landing on runwa...
Jump to postI'm about to board TK1976, operated by an A333. I never imagined I'd ever be on a widebody on this route! The load factor is not too bad for the times we are in, especially for an A330-300 - would guess the load factor is around 50-60%. Fantastic. TK are brilliant and the A330 is very frequent thes...

Jump to postHello all,
I'm travelling on a TK A330 soon in a group of 3 but would also like to sit by a window, which means that I'd like to move to a window seat for a portion of the flight. Does anybody know how strict TK are with moving seats throughout a flight these days?
From my observations on FR24, normally the runways either side of the terminal are used. The narrower runway to the left of the terminal is used for takeoffs while the wider one just beside it is for landing. At busier times, the runway furthest away is used but almost exclusively for landing, altho...
Jump to postTC-JNB, a TK A330-200, has been painted in the Turkish team livery. The livery is different from the one that TC-LND has. TK seems to have been painting quite a few aircraft in special liveries, whether that's a sports team livery or the Star Alliance livery.
Jump to postTC-JRD, a TK A321 has been painted in the Star Alliance livery. 7 of the A321s from that batch now have the livery - JRA/JRB/JRD/JRL/JRP/JRS/JRY.
Jump to postTC-LTF has just entered service, operating a flight to Trabzon for its maiden journey with Turkish Airlines.
Jump to postTC-JRY, a TK A321, has been painted in the Star Alliance livery.
Also, TK629 to Accra, operated by TC-JYH seems to have been in a holding pattern near Istanbul for almost four hours now, I wonder what the situation is.

Jump to postTC-LND, a TK A330-300 has been painted in a special livery for the Turkish National football team. This is the only A330-300 with a special livery as far as I know. Looks quite good in my opinion.
Jump to postI don't think I've seen this being mentioned here but TK's first 737 MAX 9, TC-LYA, has finally entered international service for the first time. It has flown to Kuwait, Catania and Lyon and looks like it will be allocated to Valencia in the coming days.

TK sent in a 777-300ER today on the TK1977/1978 service, ultra rare if not flat out unprecedented. I was lucky enough to see it from my window! TK is also going to operate a 77W tomorrow, on Monday and on Tuesday, which is great to see. After that, they will operate 4x weekly A333s. I would guess t...
