WS has now removed the MAX until Feb. 4

Starting to think YYC/YEG-HNL won't operate non-stop at all this winter.

Re: The WestJet Thread

Looks like they have shortened BCN's run next summer. It's only showing MAY 8-SEP 13. All other long haul routes are loaded until end of October. I don't see WS entering Asia or another continent for a few years still. Their focus will be primarily Europe. As for next winter, I will venture a guess ...

Re: The WestJet Thread

I highly doubt that either of those routes would get cut as WS is the only nonstop to London, and in the case of YWG, the only nonstop period. Also the flights are already loaded for next summer on the 763. What WS7M8 said regarding the 763’s phaseout makes perfect sense as that would mean no route...

Re: The WestJet Thread

There's rumours that WS intends to sell some or all of its 763s by next summer. If true, than there won't be much international growth next year. Also likely means YEG/YWG-LGW would get cut, and YVR-LGW upped to a 789. Not sure what would happen with BCN though. I highly doubt that either of those ...

Re: The WestJet Thread

The 787s will likely be YYC & YYZ based only with an outside chance of YVR. Do not see them in YEG or YWG. From what's currently scheduled with the 787s, it can be done with 4 frames. That leaves 2 presently unaccounted for. I also can see them adding YYC-BCN, but I'm unsure about on a 789 thoug...

Re: The WestJet Thread

I can see WS adding YYC-ICN as KE has a hub there and I'm sure many Calgarians and prairies pax want to avoid transiting at YVR or SEA. WS also says its interested in a JV with KE, so that makes chances of this eventually happening even higher (as KE already serves its other 2 hubs YVR & YYZ). ...

Re: Possibility of Air Canada expansion in the UK?

I for one think that you’ll eventually see MAN and later on EDI year-round on the MAX with GLA being seasonal. The Rouge 767s that operate EDI and GLA are too big for the market and MAN is too big of a market to only have a seasonal presence in. AC woild greatly increase its yield with both busines...

Nice upguaged going on here. I'm wondering what routes all the 87-8's are going on.. 8 frames so: YVR-KIX YVR-LHR (AC896) YVR-ZRH YVR-CDG YVR-BNE (2x frames counting the YUL tag) That leaves 2x 788s. Possibly in the future but I would say their main goal at the moment is trying to get some sort of lasting hold onto the Canadian domestic air market, which is littered with a large graveyard of failed low-cost carriers. We should note that none of the ULCC carriers in the US (Allegiant, Spirit, Fr...

Re: Updated Air Canada fleet plan calls for accelerated phase out of E190s, 767s to exit by the end of 2019

I don’t know if I saw it on this site, or on another forum that following this summer, the route will no longer exist. Dummy bookings confirm that for at least W18/19, there are no flights. Could be that without the 767, the rouge isn’t sustainable, or they have decided to allocate resources elsewh...
