RE: A380 - Airbus Close To 'Significant Order'

It's Turkish Airlines. Announcement may be coming tomorrow (Wednesday Jan 16, 2012).

At least what I read it said that the French trade minister will meet with Turkish officials tomorrow. Apparently Turkish is in discussions with Airbus for 150 aircraft.

Calculation Of Flight Times Between Destinations?

I always wondered how airlines estimate the flight time between two points and often arrive right on schedule. There is so much involved such as taxiing to runway which can change depending on wind conditions, the wind en-route, climb to altitude and so on. Any info would be appreciated.

I fly over 150,000 miles a year and always on an economy ticket. I have never purchased a J or F Class unless using mileage. I get upgraded using coupons and if I don't get upgraded, tough, I fly in economy. Fortunately in Asia there are some very classy airlines that have good economy service.
