Great view, thanks! It's seems to be going down quite fast, but then it has energy enough to do a "flare". Result: Helicopter ready to fly again next morning! :D

Re: Logic behind helicopter taxiing

Never understood helicopters autorrotation! Airspeed is needed. Thanks!

Saw helicopters do take off runs lots os times, even experienced it once in a very loaded Mi-8 over Shimla. You can't hover a loaded helicopter without airspeed.

It's no day without learning something!

Re: Barcelona Airport Thread

http://www.therouteshop.com/profiles/barcelona-airport/ Thanks for the link! I would say BKK is a perfect route for BCN but is way overserved by EK & QR (They offer good prices and conections so as a tourist you don't need a direct route), I don't think DEL will ever do to BCN. NRT & MEX are...

Berlin to Madrid for which the best journey time is 19.5 hours and requires 3 connections. Well done China! These are different cases... as you say, you need lots of connections in Europe, and China has a single network (I think!). Plus you don't have high speed railways in South France. South East...

Re: Air India rules out BCN, strengthens MAD flights instead

USA/CANADA airlines seems to be growing a lot since some years ago. Asia has started growing recently, even with Emirates and Qatar (one stop flights) competition. One has to remember that BCN had next to zero intercontinental flights some 10 / 15 years ago. You couldn't see a widebody a/c in weeks...

Don't forget Icelandair and Air France leaving BCN too. It's a pity seeing ICELANDAIR go, Norwegian already seem to have 2 weekly direct flights. Hi! I dont even want independence of Catalonia, but Spain has still to go through year 1975. Me, mother and aunt voted today even if it was quite an adventure doing it. BCN is a touristic destination, and I think even higher yield tourists from Asia don't mind stopping at Doha/Dubai even Singapore and Istambul with bussines/first tickets, while you can find 500 EUR tickets in the same plane.
