I remember in the early 2000s BA flew MAN-JFK 1 daily with 767s. They did BHX-JFK too. Your stating something that I'm sure everything on this thread is already totally aware of. LHR - MAN / EDI / DUB ? on Virgin Connect to try and compete with BA and all the other FlyBe 'local routes' killed off?

Virgin Group have zero interest in anything in and out of BHX so that'll be the end of FlyBe / VC ops from there too?

people assume because BHX is a smaller airport they don't fill the a380 having worked at BHX and worked regularly on the A380 each flight of the 2 a day averages between 5 and 600 passengers per flight that's everyday And I fly from BHX on it regularly because of work at various times of the year, ...

Thanks for the info, It really did look in a landing configuration with the wheels down, it didn't seem like it was climbing however if you reckon the departure was at that time (A6-EUN operated EK40) when I checked Flight Radar for EK40, that already seemed to be heading toward Norwich / Great Yarm...

Hi, It started off a speculation and rumour but from April 2017, Emirates will no longer be offering the A380 on the DXB-BHX-DXB route. Intitially,the two class A380 is being moved from the lunchtime 39/40 service to the evening 37/38 service, this will run from 31st December until end of March 2017...
