Northwestern Air Lease Jetstream Crashes Near Ft Smith, Northwest Territories

Sadly, Reuters reports that a BAe Jetstream belonging to Northwestern Air Lease carrying Rio Tinto employees to the Diavik diamond mine has crashed near Fort Smith, Northwest Territories. Sadly, there have been an unconfirmed number of fatalities. https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/plane-crashes...

The 100s certainly weren't capable of Transpac flying without ANC/FAI flag stops. As others have noted, that's simply not true. Does SFO-TYO count as "Transpac flying"? Pan Am was flying this route nonstop with 747-121 equipment in April 1970: https://timetableimages.com/ttimages/pa/pa700...

JFK-ZRH was moved to PHL in 2015. It too operated a JFK continuously since it launched in 1987 alongside JFK-FRA and JFK-ORY. Supposedly, the reason for the shift was the loss of the Credit Suisse contract, and the entry of DL into the market. Partially accurate, partially not. JFK-ZRH continued to...

A quick calculation for June 14 -- HA is running 77 round trip flights on their B717. For comparison, SW is running 31 round trip flights. AQ managed to have quite the successful interisland program with their B732 before they shut down, so I have no doubt in HA's ability to make used A319's work. ...
