Re: HA to launch OGG-LAS

For everyone wondering about the departure times in and out of Vegas. Aircraft performance limitations with the 321NEO are driving the earlier departure times. Payload restrictions increase as the day gets warmer..... Flight has a tight 2 hour turn to accomplish this. That doesn't mean that it will...

Air Tahiti Nui retires A343 F-OSUN, PPT-HNL-VCV on 3 engines

Air Tahiti Nui has retired F-OSUN, its 3rd (of 5) A343s. Wouldn't normally be a huge deal, but it performed a 3 engine ferry PPT-HNL-VCV and arrived this morning. Crew was apparently from Madrid and specially contracted to do this flight. Damn cool video and pictures of takeoff from PPT: https://sco...

Re: When Will B6 Pull Out of LGB?

On the subject of fines at LGB: JBU943, FLL-LGB (scheduled to arrive at 9:32PM) has landed after 11PM 6 times during April, 3 of those after midnight. Whatever the city was hoping to achieve with the higher fines is clearly not working.

Re: A330-800 out, B787-9 in at Hawaiian? -Leeham

It's been public for over a year that HA would be phasing out the 767s by end of 2018 (http://aviationweek.com/awincommercial/hawaiian-advances-boeing-767-retirement), and that the 3 birds would be going to United. I guess HA was planning to pay BCC to exit the leases early, and now they won't have ...

Re: Airbus stops accepting PW1100G engines

HA23 OAK-OGG cancelled today; PDX-OGG is happening. N202HA is flying, 204 appears to be grounded at HNL. 204 is indeed grounded awaiting its new engines There's some cool pictures on IG this morning of N204HA in the hangar awaiting its dual engine change: https://www.instagram.com/p/BfGDGPcj7GV/?hl...

Re: New Emergency Airworthiness Directive Issued For PW Powered NEOs

What engine is Hawaiian using on their 321? Are they affected? Well, I see that one of the two HA A321s ferried from Maui to HNL yesterday, the the subsequent schedule used a 767. The other airplane is in the air. N204HA must have both engines affected, hnlramper posted a picture this morning of it...

Re: Hawaiian CEO on A321neo In-Service Economics

Secondly, I don’t think anyone else is operating the MAX or NEO to Hawaii. I think the comment about it being considerably more efficient than competing narrowbodies is referring to 737-800s operated by Alaska and 757s. That will change when Alaska puts the MAX on Hawaii runs. Thirdly, I wonder if ...

Re: Hawaiian to announce HNL-LGB service on Monday January 8 2018.

Ya'll are speaking in past tense like the 767s are gone. Nothing further from the truth...they still FLY 767s. And the NEOs haven't even started revenue service to the mainland yet...not until next week. Revenue service with the A321 NEO began yesterday on OGG-OAK.. And HA has been pretty clear abo...

Re: Delta's Official Goodbye Itinerary for the Iconic 747

Take pride in knowing though, that none of these people who blew almost a million miles, will be on the truly last passenger flight. Some lucky military guys/gals will almost definitely be on it for a charter trip or two before the trip to VCV. This might not be the right interpretation, but I thin...

Re: HA Engine Fire at SEA

I haven't read anything about a maintenance facility at PAE. Anyone have links for this, just general information? N375HA was at PAE for interior reconfiguration, including the addition of the lie-flat seats. Being there for 10 days, there was probably other MX done as well. I believe ATS is the fa...

Is the JAL bird still there?

Looks like it flew to NRT yesterday as JAL8065, probably a ferry/positioning flight.

Re: AA aircraft on fire @ORD

The article states the evacuation (door open) started 20 sec after coming to a stop at this time the cabin would have been instantaneously depressurized (which would I assume show in the cockpit). It took 40 seconds after this (according to the article) to cut the fuel to shut-off the engine. The a...

Re: Hawaii & the 73G, 737-900 vs 737-800

Flagstops are exceedingly rare, I don't think AS has had any since "APU on-demand" was started. When did Alaska start this? I know my in-laws had a stop in SJC on a SEA-KOA flight in early March 2016. It seems like there were a couple in there. I think the winds were kicking through. On F...
