I'm happy to hear that my friend just flew AA domestically and they are actually providing more food than before. Everyone received a snack box including cookies, pretzels, potato chips, and a bottle of water on a flight from DFW to MCO.

In the future, there is no difference on Boeing aircraft for regular airlines and charter airlines. They cannot do 3-4-3 in a 787 and cannot do 3-5-3 on a 777.

What I find incredible is when Asian carriers face financial troubles, they don't take it on their customers in form of fees. They still provide great service. When American carriers face financial problems, we as the consumer, see through it.

From my experience, the noises on a 787 are more annoying. The engine sounds are almost like a noise reducer in a 777. On a 787, you hear the sounds of carts banging against seats, lavatory doors slamming, etc, which is much more annoying.

The 777 is very probably the noisiest widebody passenger jet still being manufactured into the 21st century, even the DC-10 felt quiet in comparison. Unfortunately, I believe the 3-4-3 seating was inspired by the 787 3-3-3 seating. They felt the 777 has a wider cabin width, and therefore can justify the extra seat. If the 787 had 8 abreast seating, I don't think 10 abreast would be that prominent in at 777.

Does anyone know if CZ, EK, and AF had 3-4-3 in the 90s when the 777 was first introduced? What is interesting is that CZ, went with 3-3-3 on its 773s.

Please let it be AA, please let it be AA. And not just a Ch 11 shake and bake, make it a Ch 7 liquidation. Too much debt, not enough cash. Dougie Parker's hubris coming home to rest, took a good airline and turned it into low cost carrier service with legacy carrier prices. How is AA worse than UA?...

Strong financials is just one factor. When I was in college, I did a financial statement analysis on two airlines, DL and CO. DL had weaker numbers and negative equity. However, 10 years down the road, who ceased to exist? DL is still strong and running today.
