Just flew out of MIA early yesterday morning (Saturday 1/26). TSA Pre-check was open in 1 location towards the First Class Priority area.

I’m excited for DL service between SBA & SLC. Just curious do we know times and days during the week these flights will happen?

Re: Frequent Travelers: How do you maintain or lose weight?

I’m fighting the same battle being a relatively new road warrior. Here’s what I’ve been doing to watch the waistline. *Drink lots of water- I’ve been carrying a water bottle with me the last 2 years and it helps everything from jet lag to just feeling better. *Instead of airport restaurant food, I’v...

Re: Moxy's hubs?

I just haven't heard where the airline's operations would be based. Remember, Moxy wants to be more of an App based airline so that means an ops center along with maintenance of the aircraft and training of crews, unless it outsources those duties to another A220 user.

Chasing Status or Just Getting Miles

I thought I'd start this thread here as this forum is more general in travel preferences than what could be posted at a more specific travel site. Almost 4 years ago I became a regular road warrior (self employed, so $ matters) and out of personal choice at the time I decided to just fly Delta Airli...

Re: Best luggage for the frequent traveler

Discussing luggage can sometimes be like discussing religion. It’s really a personal thing. I’m going to share some of mine. I’m a business casual traveler and have two ways to carry on. 1. I use a soft bag - Redoxx Skytrain that is just short of carry on limits. I like it because it can carry more ...

Re: Mokulele end SMX ( Santa Maria, CA) appears

It’s sad that SMX is an efficient small airport. However with so many seats added down south at Santa Barbara with A319/A320/737 service added by American, United and Alaska and an active college town with a new Terminal like San Luis Obispo up north. I used Mokulele once but found it too much a has...

I landed this morning on a Delta flight from MSP and we were ground held on the taxiway on the way to our gate just due to heavy traffic from the South side coming up the alley to take off from 24L.

Re: SBP officials eyeing flights to PDX, DFW

This is exciting news and hopefully fares are competitive. I live 40 minutes North of Santa Barbara and 1 hour South of San Luis Obispo and since AA/AS/US expanded at SBA prices have been reasonable enough for me to cut back the drive to LAX. Like OP I would love to see some DL service from either a...

I've flown in this last year on Delta - A330 LAX to JFK, 767-400 and 300 between LAX and JFK and even a very old/about to retire domestic 767-300 from ATL to MCO.

Thanks for Sharing. I'm one local Santa Barbara County resident happy to see some mainline action in my area. AA starting yesterday to DFW (still an odd time out at 12:05 PM) and United soon to be adding A319 service to Denver and A320 to SF. In fact I just signed up for AA credit card because this ...

Re: Air France union calls for strike

September of 2014 I buy a ticket from Delta airlines to do a multi-city European trip from LAX. Fly KLM over and booked on Air France on way back. You all know the rest of the story regarding AF. Rebooked in Delta to get home from that trip. Next week plan to travel to Spain and back, booked by Delt...

Thank you for sharing your experience with all of us. I hope your future business ventures go well. Not everyone can shell out the money for the bigger seats in the front and gourmet food on a trip overseas, so what you are posting is really relevant. Just 2 1/2 years ago I was invited to meet with ...

Re: Favorite transcon (LAX/SFO - NYC/BOS) product in Y?

I generally grab the international DL wide bodies on LAX-JFK run. Last 3 flights have been on A330 and 767-400. Shhh.....I usually book large emergency exit row in 3/4s toward the back of aircraft.

Re: Reason for your Favourite aircraft bias?

For flights of more than 3.5 hours I really like the 2-4-2 or 2-3-2 layout of the 767 and A330 for pure comfort level and both aircraft to me look very balanced inside and out. I'm not brand blinded by the A vs B brand fights I've seen here on A-Net. I'll have to admit I have a spot in my heart for ...

Re: AMS vs CDG for Skyteam and DL

I go to Europe 2 X per year and this year will require trips through CDG via Air France. The first trip will be with my wife where we will be flying from Barcelona to CDG to catch a LAX bound A380. There's only a 1 hour 45 minute connection time. Do any of you with experience making the transit thro...

Re: Long Beach city council rejects FIS at LGB

I thought I'd toss out some wild ideas (just a spectator not a professional here) for Jet Blue now that the residents of Long Beach gave them the middle finger over the FIS (Customs Facility). BTW Cranky Flier really has the best coverage of this saga on his blog. 1. Jet Blue already has direct serv...

Re: Santa Barbara: They built new terminal, but traffic did not come

Wasn't SBA-DEN one of the Air Wisconsin "grandfathered" routes operated with the BAe 146-200/300 for many, many years? I took that flight once - Exactly one week prior to 9/11 for a 1 week business trip. Was not able to fly back for obvious reasons ended up traveling Greyhound for the ret...

Re: Santa Barbara: They built new terminal, but traffic did not come

I live in Santa Barbara County, 30 minutes North of SBA and 30 Minutes South of SBA. Just about a year and half ago made a career change which requires me to take two trips a month to anywhere in the US and once a year to Europe. Being this is my own business and trying to keep expenses in check, I'...
