Re: Unusual routes/destinations

Air China on IAH-PTY just before the pandemic was an odd one. Similarly, Korean Air flew LAX to GRU for at least a few years. Also started thinking about NW and PHX in the 80's. I believe they flew PHX-SAN, PHX - TUS and PHX - LAS. IAD - PHX and CLE, trying to kind of replicate what they were doing...

Unusual routes/destinations

Was thinking about some regularly scheduled routes from carriers that would be surprising to many. A couple of examples, I will use NW as have more knowledge than I do with some other carriers. 1) NW used to fly JFK to CPH, I think might also might have flown Stockholm from JFK or Oslo as well. 2) W...

Outlier here, I guess, I preferred the DC-10. Growing up in an NW family in Tampa, flew them a lot when NW had the hub. Was always nice to see all those big red tails particularly in the winter when you could see 3 or 4 at the same time. Usually ended up in first as this was pre ff and was always a ...

Hyderabad as Tech Industry base is pure hype. 2 decades ago a young new Governor decided to hardsell a business friendly image and even hired a lobbying firm in the US for $50m a year to hardsell this image to US politicians and big business. It will often work, unless it is cloudy at SFO and they shut down a runway or two. The international and domestic terminals are adjacent and connected airside. Using the moving walkways and a brisk pace it will usually be only about 15 or 20 minutes (max) gate to gate. If the weather is poor the in...
