Seeing how United and Delta have been dumping CRJ-700s from their regional partners and AA has been picking them up, can we expect to see AA take over the Republic E170s and put 65 seats in them? They don’t really fit the scope of DL and UA well but might be perfect for AA’s network. That is indeed...Jump to post
Republic floater E170s N806MD and N826MD have been flying for American Eagle for the past week, though it looks like 826 may have been rotated out. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/N806MD https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/N826MD I flew on N826MD on a DH a couple weeks ago from ...Jump to post

Replace small with LOW PAID. Dude drop this already. Regional pilots are no longer low paid. They start at like 60k with bonuses and your a captain making 6 figures in 12 months these days Captains don't make 6 figures in 12 months. More like 65k. Call me crazy, but I could see the CRJ-550 working for them. They'd be able to offer a decent first class, and have room for VFR traffic as well. Outsource the flying to Air Wisconsin.Jump to post
There are some stunning beaches off of 30A (Seaside area) with white sand and crystal clear water. I've been to Seven Mile Beach in the Caymans as well, and the beaches along 30A rival those in the Caymans believe it or not. 30A has seen some major expansion and an increased interest over the last 5...Jump to post
If I had to guess, there’s 2 possible options:
1) Service comes back, or
2) Service doesn’t come back.
UA drops ORD-YOW/TUS/JAN and IAH-CRW/CAE/LEX. Beginning to wonder if all that talk about beefing up the domestic hubs only applies to DEN. What a joke, eh? Not a way to build a hub. From what I've heard, most of these cuts released today should be temporary - due to pilot shortage at one of the reg...Jump to post
It's pretty sad when China and the Cayman Islands ground the MAX, but nothing has been done regarding safety here in the US. I applaud the companies that took the initiative of caring for the lives of their passengers, whether warranted or not. It's not going to happen here though. Too many politica...Jump to post
Has there been another type of aircraft that has killed this many people so shortly after entry into service? In 1964-65 the 727 had a horrible safety record at first. Let’s count the number of accidents as opposed to people. Reason is the mid 1960s had load factors in the 50% range. Had the 727s b...Jump to post

I don’t know how to post pics, but there’s an aerial photo that was posted on one of the pilot forums showing the track of the plane in the snow.
They weren’t even close to the runway, and extremely lucky no one died or was seriously injured. This is 100% an accident.

I wonder who else will jump on this train. GoJet is apparently operating 50 of them, which is doubling their United fleet. I can see SkyWest, maybe Envoy/PSA, and even Endeavor getting in on the action.
Is this the future of 50-seat flying? Will the 145s/200s be no more?

I don’t believe Republic has new jets coming. Though scoped out, new jets are always a possibility as replacements. OO has 20 900s with 70 seats coming to replace old 700s. It seems likely that new E jets will find their way to the big 3 regionals as needed for replacements. That should be enough f...Jump to post
Now there is a top off order for more A220s at DL. This seems to fit with the strategy as expressed on their presentation and in the video (thanks of the link). My prediction for regionals remaining in a few years is: 1) Endeavor 2) SkyWest 3) Republic 4) Horizon 5) Envoy 6) ExpressJet 7) Trans States And possibly Mesa, but that situation is a little more complex to figure out. Mergers: 1) CommutAir is merged with ExpressJet. ExpressJet brand survives. 2) W...Jump to post

I always thought it would be a little more expensive for a wholly owned to fly vs outside carrier... Are you able to elaborate? We flew American this weekend from BUF to PHL and the flight attendant had to move people to balance the aircraft? Surprised this is done on such a large aircraft. Is this common? This accident and subsequent loss of life resulted from Boeing-error, not pilot-error.
Too bad this will never be the official result because of politics and money.
Honestly, SkyWest is what these EAS communities need. Reliable service and codeshare one-stop connections worldwide should always win over turboprop or piston service to, say, Albany, NY. The numbers don't lie either; passenger numbers skyrocket when SkyWest enters a market. Just look at UIN, SLN, C...Jump to post
