Not very sexy, but there's a PH-COP which is actually a police plane. I'm sure there must be many more funny regs.

RE: KLM Flight Denied Overflyining USA...

The KLM plane could have landed in Canada, but for operational reasons this was not done. Dutch justice minister Donner said this in a written reply to questions raised by the 2nd chamber of parliament. RE: Badjagged Then Badsoft? Where's The Happy Medium?

Well, I'm no expert (got 9 photos online myself). Personally, I think the high contrast, especially the dark underside, would be more of a reason to reject. The sharpness seems about the same quality as my average 'good enough to try uploading' shots. It's only slightly above my personal sharpening ...

You could also use the Gimp, which is somewhat like Photoshop but free (can be had for free, and is open source). Elements probably does the trick as well (My Canon 300D came with Elements 2, and I suppose 3 is even better). I don't think I could get a shot on here with anything else than a (digital...

RE: Please Help Me Choose A New Camera.

I haven't used either lens, but I'm sure the 100-400 is substantially better than the 75-300. A 70-200/4L could be a nice alternative (and you can always add a teleconverter if you do need more than 200mm). I have a Sigma 70-200/2.8EX myself but if you don't need the f/2.8 the f4L would probably be ...

24-200: EF24-85/3.5-4.5 (EF35/2, EF85/1.8) Sigma 70-200/2.8 EX HSM actually, I also have a 70-210/3.5-4.5 but hardly ever use it since the Sigma is so much better (bigger/heavier though!) I'm thinking about buying a 1.4x or 2x extender for the Sigma, to improve zoom range. Might pick up an <acronym ...

unless... your battery is flat. Try charging it (if the red led on the charger flashes, it's not full yet) and if that doesn't help, check if the contacts are dirty (which would be strange for a new camera)

Sounds like a failure that desperately needs checking, not something to be fixed by an end user, so get a new one at the shop! You might want to check the http://www.dpreview.com/ forums to see if it is a 'common' thing.

I think airliner photography doesn't demand much from the camera body, you need a good lens (and usually a zoom will be useful  <img src="/discussions/graphics/smile.gif" ALT="Smile"> and it should have only a small delay between the time you press the shutter and the time the actual picture is...

I take it you mean 'it is NOT allowed to have photos removed and then uploaded again with better quality' Are these re-uploads checked by screeners? I can imagine a photographer thinking the new version is better, when screeners think it is not. What is allowed to have been changed to the photo that...

I'm not a screener and have about half of my first uploads rejected, but I like the picture.
