Ban pretty much is a safety precaution by the US and its allies. Other countries have different risk assessments. CX only serves Dubai & Bahrain (tag on of DXB) in the Middle East and the airspace is in international waters before hitting Pakistan/India.

Wow that flight actually has passengers on it. If they wanted to AVOID Iranian airspace they could have flown via Saudi Arabia/Egyptian airspace into Greek EU airspace and overnight in FRA/MUC instead of HNL. That would have been MUCH faster.

I see EVA Air's crews need 2.5 hours before a flight to show up to work!? And HND/HND turns require a overnight!? Some things of the cabin crew are ridiculous. EVA Air seriously needs to become more efficient and only need to show up 30 minutes before the crew bus.

I just figured it out. I used Beijing airports website and it said DL128 from today is cancelled (6/19/19) and replaced with DL9928 tomorrow (6/20). For some reason delta.com didn't show the flight as cancelled.

Holy crap is the range of the A321XLR big. 8700km full payload. That allows for JFK/PHL as far east as Moscow/Istanbul and MIA as far south as EZE/SCL. Also JFK/PHL/MIA to HNL & ANC.

Also the one route per carrier policy is relaxed they should fly PKX-JFK & PKX-IAD. Air China has gotten too greedy and now charges outrageous fares on PEK-IAD (the only Mainland carrier @ IAD, CX does the same thing for HKG-IAD).

ikolkyo, even the B737Max8 (6500km full payload range) and B737Max10 (6100km full payload range), BA can put it on their lower yielding EMEA routes and Americas expansion. So the gcmap I made earlier still applies (though some routes are off of it).

Boeing's range figure for the B787-10 is FULL PAYLOAD 11,900km. This allows KE from ICN to reach all of Europe (including DUB/LIS), Oceania (including MEL, SYD & AKL) and US Mid-west/West-Coast (LAX, LAS and as far east as ORD & DFW, unfortunately IAH is out of range).

Yes. Also one reason why Qantas's SYD-SCL airfares are so expensive is due to the B744 on the route versus LATAM's 787 which is much more fuel efficient.

Oh yes I forgot about Ethiopian, they serve Abidjan (ABJ) from JFK, Lome (LFW) from EWR continuing onto Addis Abba and also service to ORD, YYZ & IAD (West-bound fuel stops @ DUB due to ADD high elevation).

In my opinion QF should be flying BNE-SFO & BNE-DFW. DFW offers MORE connections via AA's megahub than ORD ever will. Plus with ANZ flying AKL-ORD non-stop it negates the ORD factor.
