I'm not so sure about SLC-Asia/Latin America. The most SLC will get is YVR/YYZ/YUL/MEX/CUN. The market is simply not there. This is not like PDX-ICN where there's area businesses that need Asia access like Intel or Nike.

I am surprised at YVR as the first Canadian destination instead of YYZ or YUL. The RJs/CRJs that serve JFK/LGA/EWR-YYZ/YUL are always full with exorbitant fares too. Connect Canada with B6's Latin network and you have a winner!

I wish AA would start JFK-BOM/BLR competing with UA/DL. Due to limited non-stop competition UA's EWR-BOM is on a high J 77W instead of the 789. I guess AA didn't want to compete with DL on JFK-BOM.

I'd say Osaka KIX has enough for the service it has. Pre-COVID KIX was connected to HEL, FRA, LHR, CDG in Europe, SFO/LAX in the Americas.

NGO and KIX has been tried and failed. DTW-NGO only works on DL due to automotive ties. JL flies LAX-KIX and that's all the market can stand. UA also flies SFO-KIX.

Exactly, CX is bleeding cash right now and their traditional business of Southeast/South Asia connections demand is much lower. When we get all vaccinated AA should take over CX's SEA-HKG (788 789 burns less fuel than the A359).

There is definitely more demand for SCL from the USA. AA is smart on capitalizing on it. Chile is a strong US ally and part of the US VISA Waiver Program, the only Latin American country in the program so demand is near infinite.

The Chinese C919 has western (Honeywell) components all over the place. But China is only sanctioned about the Xinjiang problem and not anything else enabling it to have a relatively efficient plane. Also how’s the Japanese Mitsubishi space jet going?

If GRU/EZE loads and yields are so good why not resume JFK/LAX-GRU/EZE sooner? I heard AA was very lucrative carrying cargo from Asia to Latin America (electronics without the batteries) and produce from Latin America to Asia via DFW/LAX/JFK.

How is ANA doing in Mexico City/MEX? Post-COVID ANA is the ONLY Asian airline serving MEX and the service is still daily so they must be enjoying the lack of competition. AeroMexico/AM flies to NRT & ICN pre-COVID but suspended NRT and now only flies to ICN 2x weekly.

WOW there's THAT much demand for Cuba? I wonder if the 787 is for cargo. Its nearly impossible for a Cuban citizen right now to get a US VISA so its mostly Cuban Americans. Cubans have to apply for a visa outside of Cuba (e.g. Cancun/Mexico City/Panama City).

Are the flights timed for connecting passengers from SYD, BNE, AKL, ICN and HND? There's always high down under interest in Orlando and Florida. HA will be a lower cost competitor than QF/AA which pre-COVID was expensive.

I remember a family member flying a China Eastern MD-11 from ORD to SEA to PEK to SHA. I know LAX was served non-stop from SHA but what about SFO and YVR? It was the end of a era with MU starting JFK with the A346 and finally the 77W and soon A359. They returned to SFO and ORD non-stop with the 77W.

I noticed one location missing from HA's network is GUM. The islanders in GUM are sick of the UA monopoly and would like some carrier competition. They fly to PPT and PPG which has less traffic to North America than GUM with the US military build up.
