LATAM has ETOPS 330 for SCL-AKL/SYD/MEL and I assume QF too. The GENX is highly reliable like the GE90 on the 777. Most kinks have been worked out.

KLM resumed AMS-MIA 3x weekly on the B789. This is for the cruise business and also KL and AF have inter-line connections to secondary Latin America (LATAM). I would like DL to resume AMS/CDG-MCO.

I can't believe AA293 (DEL-JFK) still is avoiding Russian airspace and approaching 16 hours on the edge of the 77W's range. Tonights flight is diverting to BGR for fuel I presume. Too bad we have bad US-Russia relations and its the countdown to Orthodox Christmas (1/7) so I don't see this issue bein...

I have upcoming travel to CVG for business and the closest airport with non-stops is CLE. Has DL gutted the ENTIRE CVG schedule by pushing traffic via ORD/DTW/MSP/ATL? CVG is important with some multi-nationals like GE and P&G that may return to business travel.

FINALLY DL puts the A333 on ATL-SCL. Remember Chile is the ONLY Latin American country in the US Visa Waiver Program like the European countries. Remember lots of shopping south-bound and produce north-bound.

jrbarton, a friend of mine had to fly home via Europe (ICN/CDG) due to the lack of capacity on TPAC. The ticket prices out of PVG/PEK/PKX/CAN/HKG are insane, $3000+ one way.

I keep hearing rumors that JNB is really successful and UA is keen on resuming EWR-CPT and starting IAD-JNB on the B789. IAD-JNB is only a little longer than EWR-JNB and is fine with the B789 payload.

The 2 largest markets in Latin America are GRU & MEX. They serve both but MEX is BCN. If they were smart they'd make DXB-MEX non-stop. TK flies IST-MEX-CUN-IST.

Yes the B789 is a payload monster. QF has publically said 2x B789 flights STILL use less fuel than 1 B744/A380. B789=Thin and light long-haul expansion.

AA293 DEL-JFK has already diverted to Bangor once. Seriously how does AA plan DEL-JFK flights with AI/UA using Russian airspace making it 1 hour shorter and much better payload. AA needs to negotiate with the Russians considering their East Asia flights use Russian airspace.
