Re: Chicago Aviation - 2024

It’s nice to see AA sticking by its plans to rebuild the ORD hub. Per Simple Flying AA operated 290 daily flights from ORD in January. As of today they’re up to 351 daily flights (an increase of 61 flights). That number will only grow with the frequency increases scheduled on many routes in May / J...

Re: Will SAS Switch from Newark to JFK?

Feels like EWR, ORD, and IAD could be sustained with 321XLR post-alliance change. Why do you say that about ORD other than they won't have the United feed? SAS has flown to ORD for 60 years, including wide body service from the early 70s (747s, DC-10s, 767s, A330/340s, and the shortlived A350). Man...

BA’s move to T3 will be better for passengers for sure. Their club at T5 was getting old. Here area few points based on this conversation. There are at least 7 but I believe 8 wide body gates at T3 (someone here probably knows better): K19 (77W capable and used by JL and IB), K16, K12, K15, K13, K9,...

I would say gate space limits 777-300ER fleets from ORD & PHL. 197' 3" wingspan on 787 vs 212' 7" for the 777-300ER. Funny enough there was a 777-300ER as a last minute sub for PHL-LAX route the other day. There is space for 5-6 777-300ER if AA ever needs to upgauge at PHL. What was a...
