Re: Updated: Air Canada/Transat A.T. Inc. Conclude Amended Transaction for Combination of the Two Companies

The loser in all of this may be Boeing. I expect that AC will order more A320neo/321neo planes instead of the MAX. (The A321LR is definitely a long and thin plane from YUL to secondary France.) I also see more A330-300s being added but not the age of most of the TS A330 fleet, giving an A333 fleet ...

Re: Air Canada News And Discussion Thread

Is the 767 cargo conversion for the long term or is it just for covid? I imagine it takes a while to covert it to a full freighter so it’s probsbly for the long term. Is this AC focusing more on cargo in the future or is it anticipation of lack of belly capacity in the coming years? Full Frieghter ...

Re: Which Air Canada's aircraft are being parked?

That is an interestingly short timespan. Short however not that difficult. I am sure Transport Canada worked with Air Canada and the company converting the aircraft quickly due to the need of full freighter aircraft to transport medical and other supplies. I would rather that then all the money goi...

Re: Air Canada to retain laid off employees on payroll with govt subsidy

They are not “back at work” they are still on off duty status but will be back on the AC payroll at the 75% pay. Some may have the option of returning to work at 100% pay if they choose to.....ie if they were on a leave of absence. I may be mistaken, but I believe that they will be back at 100% pay...

767-375ER(BDSF), L/N 215, C/N 24083, C-FCAE, ex Air Canada, presently at TLV, expected redelivery 3Q 2020 And this one was originally built for Pacific Western, a Canadian airline. No it was not! Although -375 is Pacific Western Airlines customer code they never flew this one. It was built for Cana...

Re: Manual push back of a Wamos 744

It should be noted that the largest plane that SAP normally would see is an A330 from UX. I would imagine that that plane uses remote boarding, as other than that flight, the largest passenger flight that this airport would see is a Boeing 737 or Airbus A320 or A321. This is out of necessity, and I...

Re: Air Canada/Air Transat Merger Receives Negative Report from Competition Bureau

Well I would say the competition worries may be mute now, if the deal doesn't go through you will see Air Transit possibly goto Bankruptcy, depending on the reasons for Transat being put up for sale however I don't think you will see many vacation companies like Air Transat survive standalone if thi...

Re: Which Air Canada's aircraft are being parked?

I would also suspect that Air Canada may try and paint a few extra planes during this time if they can get the hanger space

Re: Air Canada to fly B737 MAX 8 to Ireland

That makes better sense.. They are seasonal...... Even if they weren't, they'd have no issues in winter either. Great to see that AC will be using the MAX on transatlantic routes other than YYT-LHR. Both Boeing and Airbus have advertised aircraft as being able to fly certain routes easily, and then...

Based on what? They CAN'T legally join the j/v, so why would they be mad at AA for that? Do you really have to repeat what a poster literally just pointed out many posts above yours? Didn't even see it; was too focused on why you'd just make up something like that..... so, figured I'd ask. they are...

Re: AC & CX codeshare and reciprocal mileage accrual & redemption

well now they are code sharing with AC, they are owned by Air China which is a Star Alliance Carrier, they have a JV with Air New Zealand also a Star Alliance Carrier, I see this as a possible alliance switch in the near future.
